A chateau, vineyard, spa, and golf resort in the rolling foothills north of Atlanta, Chateau Elan is about an hour from the Atlanta airport and only 45 minutes from downtown. The resort is a French-style chateau on hundreds of lush acres. If it's golf you seek, choose from one of four courses. The full-service European-style health spa is always an option, as are the winery tour and tasting, the tennis courts, the pool, and the equestrian center. For something racy, lessons at the Panoz Road Racing driving school (just down the road) can be arranged depending on availability.Dining at Chateau Elan, enhanced with the bounty of the award-winning vineyards, is a heady attraction for anyone's tastes. Chefs at Chateau Elan's eight distinctive restaurants present an array of international and regional American culinary dishes. A wealth of choices and settings ranging from classic French dining at Le Clos, casual bistro style foods at Cafe Elan, sumptuous buffet and a la carte fare at Versailles, the charm of the Carriage House Restaurant set in a restored 1886 Victorian house, or there is always the spirited ambience of Paddy's Irish Pub. The hotel also has banquet facilities, ballrooms, boutiques and shops, health club, beauty salon, business center, kids' center, and loads more. Each room has cable television, coffeemaker, clock radio, safe, modem connection, minibar, iron, and hairdryer.

Georgia Wine Country Rocks
By Amanda, 03/18/09
This resort was great... the winery was awesome.... and the wine tour was the best we have ever been on. The winemaker Pete was the coolest guy, made you feel right at home. The Hotel was great and the food awesome. Check out skyauctions.com for a good deal.

Last of Adequate Service Costly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/08
Beware when making reservations at this place. If they've made a mistake on your reservation (such as putting in the wrong date), if you don't catch it on their email you'll have to pay for their mistake (even when they admit they entered the wrong date). In my case, this meant getting billed for a full day of "relaxation and fun" when neither I nor my guests were there.

Would not return
By LeaAnne, 02/04/08
We went to Chateau Elan for our anniversary. The grounds were nice, the golf course was really pretty. Our room was in the spa building and it wasn't very great. It was a Queen size bed which there was plenty of room for a king. The sheets, matress, etc were not like a lux hotel. The bathroom was large and had the clawfoot tub. It had silk ivy as decorations, it wasn't very plush. Spa was ok. Food was ok. For the money & traffic getting there, I would not return.

Won't return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/07
The winery was excellent & dinner at the bistro was exceptional. However, we were very disappointed with the hotel. Not only was the overall appearance disappointing (saggy wallpaper, for example), the air conditioner in our room was so noisy, we couldn't get a good night's sleep while we were there. To top it all off, the only person there that was nice to us was our waiter at the Bistro. Desk staff, winery employees, and other guests at this place were so rude that it ruined our whole outlook on this place. How disappointing!

wonderful
By someday, 10/30/07
the staff was wonderful at the spa. I had the best facial with one of the nicest girls i have ever met.she was smart and funny. my massage was great i told my massage tech my shoulders were hurtng and he worked on them till the pain was gone.I felt very relaxed and pampered when i left. I plan to go back very soon. The only thing I thought needed improvement was the decor and style needed to be updated some of the rooms were more hotel then spa.

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/07
It sounds as if the other reviwer had an isolated incident and for that I am sorry. They were not able to experience the beauty of the grounds and facility itself. The wine tastings are informative and enjoyable. The food is out of this world. The massages were to die for. Even their soaps, lotions and shampoos that are left in the rooms(which are available in larger sizes throughout) are wonderful-Georgia Peach of course! I would reccommend it more for a romantic getaway or a allgirls weekend, etc. The atmoshere just lends itself more to that. The prices are a steep, but no different from other five star resorts. It is truly one of my favorite places that I have been with my husband.

Great Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/07
I just got back from a great trip to Chateau Elan. The staff was amazingly friendly and very professional. My anti stress treatment at the spa relaxed me so much I napped for hours afterward. The pool is huge, and the restaurants were very good. I tried four of the six. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was grand. The entire resot is absolutely gorgeous. It's the perfect weekend trip from Atlanta.

all facade, no real value
By Edith, 11/28/06
I was so excited to try this spa - wow, how wonderful to have a getaway so close to Atlanta! Unfortunately, the staff was apathetic to rude, our reservations were jumbled, an ill aesthetician coughed in my mother's face throughout her facial treatment and the spa manager was blase about my feedback. Morale is a definite issue with the staff and they were not customer service-oriented at all. The exterior of the buildings and the grounds were in general impressive, but the interior was akin to a nice Holiday Inn. NOT worth the $$$$ or fighting the traffic returning to Atlanta.

Overpriced
By Peter C, 11/08/06
Compared to spas in California, not even close to quality of rooms and grounds. Spa was OK, but you would be better going to Napa county for the money. Resturants were very good, but a bit overpriced.

Perfect
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/06
My husband and I visited Cheateau Elan as a reference in January 2006. Perfect is word that comes to mind. The Resort was beautiful, the staff was wonderful, the room was georgeous and the bed was to die for. The whold experience was nice. We told the staff we were celebrating 3 years of marriage and they sent a card to our room. If you and your significant other want to get away, go with the Romance Package. I can't wait to visit again. An experience to remember.
