El Rey Del Caribe, Zona Hotelera

This small, quaint hotel was great for a weekend get-a-way. I just wanted to experience downtown and the bars. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff very professional and friendly. The breakfast fulfilling, and it was a great start to the day, since the resturant is outside under a covered roof. They have mosquito spray...all you have to do is ask for it. The ONLY thing, I didnt like it...I asked for a wake-up call two mornigns in a row. One morning, they called me 20 minutes late, and the other morning, they didnt call at all. TAKE YOUR OWN ALARM CLOCK. Downtown is very close, and walking at all hours is very safe. The Gay Bars (Picante, Karamba and Glow)are real close. Karamba and Glow are next to Burger King. Ask the attendant for direction, they know the bars well. Cancun is Gay-Friendly. Its very safe. I cant wait to go back!

I loved the environment and the fact they have solar powered items ie. dryers and lights. The pool area is wonderful and all the plants make you never want to leave. I loved it there and have been going to the same place for over ten years. I would never stay on the beach, because everything you would ever need is around this hotel. Shopping, open markets, taxis, bull fights, and the list goes on. While it may cost you about 25 bucks to get the the hotel zone, you will rarely go because you won't want to.
