Never again and neither should you!

What a complete disappointment. I typically enjoy and even prefer boutique hotels, but this one is to be avoided. To begin with, when I arrived at the hotel, my driver pulled up and there was no one in sight to assist with my luggage, so I had to lug it up the stairs and then to the front desk. The room they checked me into had a loud humming noise and when I went to call the front desk the telephone did not work so, I had to go down stairs and find someone to come to the room to investigate the noise. Not knowing what the noise was and after apologizing for the telephone, the moved me to a second room. As I was in Beverly Hills for just the afternoon to shop, I wanted to get going, so I simply left my luggage in the second room and hurried out. Upon my return around 4pm, I discovered that the walls were so thin that I could hear the guest in the next rooms telephone conversation - every word - loud and clear. I then went to turn on the TV to drown out the noise and the remote did not work. And then I tried to turn the fan on for freshness and the air control panel did not work - nothing, nada. When I called down stairs for someone to come and fix it, no one answered the phone - I let it ring over fifteen times until I got frustrated and hung up. Certain at this point, that the things would only get worse from here and that I would have not peace or even the basic level of comfort at this hotel I felt I had no choice put to call around and find a hotel to move to (which was the last thing I wanted to deal with after a day of travel and shopping - I really wanted to go for a drink and dinner to relax and enjoy my stay). I found a room at the newly remodelled Beverly Hills Hilton and for only $30 difference (beautiful decorated, spacious room with balcony). Before confirming the Hilton and moving, I informed the front desk that I would have to leave due to lack of amenities (no air, remote problems and the) and was assured that there would be no charge -he even showed me the computer screen and that my account was at zero. Weeks later, as I was reviewing my AMEX bill I noticed a charge of $139 from the Crescent. I e-mailed them explaining their oversight and they responded, telling me that they later decided to charge me half rate for a day use of the room! I was in that terrible room for no more than 30 minutes before I knew the place was a disaster. We have gone back and forth and they continue to refuse to credit my card. Honestly, I have travelled the world, having lived in Europe for fifteen year, and I have never seen such a poor level of service standards and an unwillingness to satisfy a customer.
