Great retreat in a warm, friendly inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/08
This was our second visit to the inn, the first visit being 4 years ago under different owners. We found the present inn keepers enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and gracious. Many pieces of fine art work- paintings, sculptures, antiques- are on display to enjoy. Our room was attractively decorated and very comfortable. There is the feeling of being a guest in an elegant home. Our dinner in the intimate dining room was superb! Windsor is located near other interesting areas of Vermont that can easily be explored within a days drive. We look forward to returning to Juniper Hill Inn!!

Poorly run -- a rip off
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/08
Paid $250 per night for a 3rd floor room with no view, dark cramped bathroom with stained linoleum, tiny sink, no towel hooks. Window could not be opened to let in fresh air. Pool was filthy. (We had to clean it ourselves to remove bugs and a floating bandaid.) Did not receive the advertised room sherry, there was no ice in machine, did not recieve the breakfast we ordered on our second day as owners were too busy preparing brunch for yet another party. We had reserved our 3-person room over the phone at $205 per night, then were told at checkout that we were being charged an extra $25 per night for our daughter. This is far too much to pay for such unprofessional service and such a depressing room.

Fabulous Food!
By Heather, 11/21/07
Great dinner - beautiful atmosphere & charming innkeepers. Very accommodating hosts - try enjoying a bottle of wine in the library prior to dinner. Windsor is a quaint little town, where glimpses of its heydey can be seen reemerging.

gone down hill
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/07
Has gone down hill a little since the new owners took over. Not as clean, seems cold, more focused on the dinner crowd at night.

Charming Retreat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/06
My wife and I found out about this quiet inn through our Disney Vacation Club. It was the best time we have ever had. The peacefulness of the Inn was just what we needed. Didn't even miss not having a TV in the room. Would highly recommend this establishment if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to go.

Already planning our next visit!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/05
My family spent two nights at Juniper Hill Inn. Our experience there was elegant and tranquil. My husband and I had room 20, which was very romantic and soothing. The other rooms taken by family members (14, 18 and 22) were lovely and very comfortable. The daily breakfast was scrumptious and the baked goodies in the afternoon were an anticipated treat. I highly recommend having dinner at the Inn during your stay. The four-course meal is guaranteed to be a delicious affair. Although the Inn appeals mainly to couples, two in our party were under the age of 20 and they had a fabulous time too. The nearby park across from the Inn had fishing and hiking trails, and is a great place to bike ride. This Inn has it all, outstanding accommodations, delicious food, friendly innkeepers and scenic beauty. It really is a perfect get-a-way. My husband and I are already planning our next visit.

Our Hands down favorite Inn!
By TessS, 06/28/05
Our second visit was even better than our first! The Inn keepers, Susanne and Rob, are wonderful. The Inn is immaculate. The food is delicious. There isn't a thing to complain about and it was the perfect place to spend our 20th wedding anniversary. We like that this is still a "Classic Inn". No TVs, phones and jacuzzis in the rooms. If that's what you want - don't go here. But if you want to enter a romantic mansion with timeless beauty, sit in front of a fire in a bedroom that oozes ambiance, relax on the porch sipping a glass of wine, watch deer run across the yard... relax and reconnect - then the Juniper Hill Inn is definitely the right place for you.

Refined relaxation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/05
We were greeted with a warm smile and assisted to our room which had a beautiful view of the rolling front lawn of the estate, the large private fishing lake and the ski mountain, Mt Ascutney. It was very tastfully done and we felt as if we were truly in a friends country estate. We thought the attention to detail was especially fine in our rooms. Sherry and two cordial glasses, CD player with New England themed cd's, plenty of lighting to read by with three way bulbs, all the shampoos, fragrant bath salts and tom's toothpaste you could want and wonderful soft robes! I wish they had down pillows but the bed ws incredibly comfortable and we slept like babies. On top of this the place was SPOTLESSLY clean!!! we couldn't find a spec of dust - thanks to the friendly housekeeping staff! We loved the not so "common" common areas as there are many places in the house to get-a-way and yet if you wanted to be social the "great hall" provided a place for all the guests to relax and talk. We met several people: one from Illinois, one from Maine and another from Boston. The breakfast was wonderful and the coffee was hot and strong! We loved the beverage service and cookies in the afternoon and the pool looked very enticing although we did not venture in. The location was central two minutes to the very charming Windsor where we purchased a little antique treasure and an easy twenty minute drive to Woodstock, Quechee and Hanover, NH! We especially liked the more then five miles of walking trails with waterfalls and nature directly across the street from the inn. What can we say except, "outstanding" and a bargain at twice the price! We left relaxed and peaceful not really wanting to go back to New York City, a city we love!
