Mill Garth Country Inn, Amagansett

My friends and I went to the Mill Garth Inn in Amagansett NY this weekend. It was GROSSLY over priced, misleading on the web-page, and dirty. The "suite" with a kitchenette where we were was dusty, smelly, old, and the bed in the main room was HORRIBLE. It was so old, and the bed spread had stains on it. The pull out "bed" in the living area was so thin, lop sided, and uncomfortable. The first night the guests staying in the same part of the house in the room above us kept us up all night. The walls are paper thin. . The shower was very small, and was not feel clean. There was no shelf to put any soap or shampoo. We asked for a key and we were told that the doors have no locks on any of the rooms. We felt a little nervous about thisso we had to lock our things of any value in the car. The air conditioner was only in the bedroom area, and was very noisy. We were told that they didn't take credit cards, just checks. To reserve the room we had to send a check for half of our stay, and it was a three day minimum. After two nights our backs were hurting us from the beds. We told the Innkeeper we could not stay another night. She gave us two options. (Because they don't give refunds, just credits). One suite was bigger than the one we were in, but the beds were not great. The other suite they showed us was renovated, but had cobwebs and was not clean. The other suite we ended up in also only had air conditioning in the bedroom. It did have a fan, but still the heat was unbearable in the other room. We stayed because we called Hotels, and B&B's that morning all over the Hamptons and they were already booked. We really didn't have a choice. They have No TV, Phone, or internet service at this Inn. And the "buffet" breakfast was lame. A small crumb cake, some rolls, biscuits, juice, coffee/tea. Our bill came to over $1,000 for three nights. "Tommie" charged us "taxes" and "GRATUITY" which we were shocked at. We NEVER heard of tacking on gratuity on a bill at a B&B. It was so shady. NOT WORTH IT. Shame on them at the Mill Garth Inn, NY.
