Unmatchably Real Alaska
The hotel is a great way to see Alaska without the distractions of the normal tourist market. We stayed here and also at the Denali Cabins, who are owned by the same company, on a package called Denail Backcountry Safari. We stayed in real cabins for all 3 nights, and also were given some of the best meals I ever imagined, which I was not expecting because of how far back into the Denali National Park we were.
I was expecting a hard time, but instead got a private cabin, private bath, and a cabin right on a river! Hiking was awesome. The bus trip in was actually a wildlife tour, and I saw a lot of different animals like a couple bears, some caribou, and even some foxes. I just wish I could seen some wolves that a few lucky people get to.
It is remote, so the only phone available was in the main lodge. But I went to Alaska to experience the real Alaska, not just travel hotel to hotel and spend money.
My only complaint: I ran out of film because of all the photos I took! Some say the price is steep, but you get what you pay for, and I got real Alaska.
