Horrible Customer Service!!
My daughter and I arrived in Miami on Thursday, August 10th for a mini vacation. This was our first trip to Miami and felt it was more appropriate to stay in a location that everything was in walking distance. The Blue Moon is perfect for that, however, do not look for 4 or 5 star service/room; even 3 stars is pushing it. The staff is as mediocre as the hotel, the room is perfect for young couples who do not really care what it looks like and do not mind hearing the neighbors conversations. The room is very small but clean. There were several problems with our room: the bottom of the shower curtain had black specs of mold as well as there was no bed skirt and the window leaked water. However, we chose to ignore these problems and did not bring them up to anyones attention. Everything was going O.K. until the final day at the hotel. I had kept the room for the remainder of the day due to a late flight out back to Boston. My daughter had left her cell phone in the room but did not remember if she had left it on the bed or on a side table. Never the less, when we got back to the room, the cell phone was gone. We looked through every luggage, every corner, and every inch of that tiny room until we brought this to the attention to a woman at the front desk. She was quick to respond that our staff has worked here for 15 years and nothing has ever been lost. I told her that I will speak to the manager regarding this matter. My daughter was very upset that the phone was lost and was trying to figure out what to do so it would be turned off. So, she headed downstairs to use the internet to contact the phone company. While she was down at the foyer she overheard 3 staff members ridiculing the matter, demeaning our problem and basically acting like we did not know what the hell we were talking about. All this conversation was being done while about 6 other customers were in the same area. My daughter was furious at the lack of consideration by the staff and was upset by the horrible customer service; she came to the room in tears just by the staffs I could careless attitude. I went downstairs to explain to the manager that a staff does not act like that in open areas but once I realized he was part of the 3 staff members discussing the matter, I was not surprised why they had attitudes like that. He was argumentative and not helping the problem. The issue quickly got off the cell phone and went onto the rudeness of his staff. The cell phone was never found, which is fine by my daughter, but the rudeness and careless attitude takes the cake. The only nice thing the manager did was come to our room to help look for the phone. We have learned our lesson with these small boutique hotels. Please, if you have the means, go up the street and stay at the Loews and eat at Emerils the food is great! Thanks for your time fellow reviewers!
