Great family hotel
By Lisa, 3/19/11
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel rooms are little suites, we got the king bed with the pull out sofa and two full bathrooms. We only have one child and it was still great to have the space and 2 bathrooms. there were two big flat screen tvs, mini fridge, plenty space for clothes. free wifi. The pool area is great, with two pools and two hot tubs, pool side service etc. Its not huge though and you need to get there early to get chairs, the staff will help you look for free ones but a lot of ppl go down early, put stuff on chairs to claim and if you do down about 10 or so you may not get one. The staff is very nice, the restaurant is nice, food ok. the hotel is not near anything you have to drive everywhere and traffic is horrible but we chose the out of the way location to make sure we had a quiet relaxing spot and it was. it was not cheap but nothing there is, for the space you get and the beach front location it was a good value. we loved it I just want to address the older comments on here, it seems not fair that they are here because clearly these are years old from when this must have been a different property. I read those comments in total shock but I can assure you that now this is a top notch clean place, if you go to their website, it looks JUST like the pictures. Also, on the service, I have no complaints at all, including room service although honestly I am not really demanding at all. Its all valet parking and you need to order your car but it was always ready when we went down. I only used the concierge once and kept forgetting to ask about a tour and finally stopped by the desk the night before I wanted to go, we were going out and didnt have much time. The guy was not there, had stepped away so one of the bellmen came over and started helping me!! He pulled the books out and started showing me all the options, then the real guy came back, finished up, booked the whole thing, done in a few minutes. I will not stay again because I will not go to that city again and if I did I like to try different places but I would recommend it to friends. also the one really annoying thing about this place is you are beach front but must pay for beach chair and umbrella, not so by the pool so we mainly stayed by the pool.

we enjoyed our stay this is worth reading though
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/31/10
WOW after reading some of these reviews I wonder if we are all talking about the same hotel "Grand Beach Hotel Miami Beach" The hotel is relatively new. We stayed Jan 7th to the 11th 2010 and it opened for business the end of Nov 09 (from what we understood). Granted we had a ocean front with balcony on the 19th floor. I have to agree the amenities were limited ie: reasturant was kinda simple more of a diner or cafe feeling not much to choose from. Room service was horrible (could have been we were so far up) it took a really long time, stuff was forgotten cream cheese for the bagel(whats a bagel with out cream cheese)--food was cold--things in that nature and the Gyro was disgusting couldn't eat it. With that being said we eat else where--and our cab ride to souh beach art deco area was 10 bucks (not thirty like someone said ) we actually enjoyed the location--far enough away from the all night parting but close enough to go party all night and get away when enough was enough. We thought the rooms were nice mostly white (floors-bedding-couches--etc..hate too see what it will look like when it gets old) The wife wished it had a hot tub or at least a bigger one. The owners will have to keep up on the decor sooner that they anticapte I am sure. This defenitely was not a party hotel or area, for us that was good we went for other reasons (as well as partying) so perfect for us. We did not spend alot of time at the hotel other than getting ready to go somewhere or sleeping-- hung out a little at the 7th floor pool and bar, little at the beach out front but thats about it. The hotle down the way (within walking distance was the Blue fountain--now thats a hotel--little rich for our blood--could have setteled for a room without a view at that hotel but we wanted our view so it is what it was lol. I would recomend this hotel if what you are looking for is what I've explained--However, I personally do not stay at the same place more than once. I like to experience different options and places everytime. For the money and what we were looking for, it seemed as the best fit for us, and while we were out we looked at other places that we had considered and we were happy we picked this place over the others. Good luck--have fun--be safe and enjoy..Take this for what it's worth !!

Playing hotel – do not waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/09
The hotel looks ok (even with crowded pool, unclean carpets and furniture) but you can probably get a better customer service at a cheap MOTEL. We stayed at this hotel from Dec 24 until Dec 27. Let me just say that I travel a lot for business (up to 250 of the year) and this hotel proves to be the worse hotel ever. The customer service is BAD!!! Just so you know what you can expect if you go to this ordinary, second-rate, poor quality hotel… here are some of the minor problems we had during our stay: Last day of our stay we were running a bit late going to the airport so when we arrived to the lobby my wife asked the valet boy to get us a cab, the guy told my wife that it was going to be 10 minutes because he had to call the cab. So I went to the next door hotel (not the first time, I had to do this every time I wanted a Taxi) so I asked the cab drive to please just wait for us but the cab drive (just trying to be nice) followed me to the hotel. While I was grabbing my bags, the valet boy pushed one on the ladies waiting (that had no idea that she could get a cab faster by herself) in to the cab. I asked the valet boy why he was taking my cab and he very easy said that it is not my cab because I got it from the street and stand lady was waiting first , even thought I went to the next door hotel and grabbed it… as far as I know that it is my cab… anyway at this point the cab driver is mad, the valet guy is yelling at the cab driver, and my wife looks somehow frighten… so I just told the cab driver to just take the lady that I would wait for the next cab…. Anyway, I didn’t ask for the manager because the night before we had to asked for the manager when the valet parking started hitting our car because we drove and didn’t stop at the front door, this guys was so rude, he was hitting the car and saying that if we wanted to park the car we needed to pay $60 dollars, we did care about $60, it was just the fact that (1) we parked all the days of our stay on the side of the hotel and the last night when we went back to the hotel we somehow needed to know that there was a valet parking (ONLY) policy, of course no sign. (2) That the guy hit the car and when the valet boy opened the door of the car, he was so mad like we were some kind of delinquents. (3) The “manager” looked more confused and disoriented that a lost baby boy in the mall when I explained the situation, she did not get the point that the services was terrible, she instead was worried about the $60 I needed to pay, (Even thought we spent $1100 only in 3 nights, not that matters but we were customers) … Well, the stories can go for ever (only in 3 days)… from “Sorry sir, we do not have ice machines so we will send you some ice to your room” and we never got the ice…. To the “restaurant” that looks more like a hospital cafeteria with untrained waiters playing hotel. I do feel sad for the owners of this hotel; I hope they know the kind of service their customers are getting because in no time this hotel is going to be killed by the reviews.

Total Disgust!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/05
This is positively the most disgusting hotel I have seen. After checking in went to the elevator the floor numbers were broken off, only one elevator appeared to be working. We had reserved 2 rooms, both of which were disgustingly filthy. Both rooms had hair left in the tub, very moldy shower head and curtains, dirty floors, used soap left on sink. Toilets that didn't work properly. Used drinking cups. Complained to front desk gave us new rooms (changed rooms 3 times for a total of 6 rooms). Each complaint gave us either a larger room or a room with a "view" -- trust me, looking out of the window was much better than looking inside, made your skin crawl. One of the rooms looked like someone had thrown up in it and it wasn't cleaned -- the front of the night stand and the floor were just ignored. Internet service was non existant except in the lobby, the couches in the lobby were dirty/dusty. The parking you pay EXTRA for is across the street and around the corner in an unlit parking lot behind a parking garage. Pool had a lot of dirt in it, not maintained. The hotel is under rennovation and is loud, wind whistling through the hallway doors. You were lucky if water was available and not turned off. This hotel is so substandard I would not want my dog staying there.

BE WARNED! Stay away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/13/05
In summary, I would not recommend this hotel. My reasons are as follows: 1. Checkin is at 3pm 2. Rooms are assigned 3. Hotel in bad need of repair/remodeling 4. Hotel manager not accommodating 5. $30 cab ride from south beach area 6. Wireless Internet access only works in lobby (not working when I was there!) We arrived to the hotel at 8AM asking to checkin early, hoping a room was available. The manager, who was not terribly helpful, informed us that checkout was at 12 noon and checkin was at 3pm, no exceptions. We checked in and then started our day at 3pm, no sooner. I booked this hotel through Travelocity and there was no mention of this late checkin, be sure to call ahead! It seems to me that the customer should be right, no matter how crazy or in my case, perhaps unreasonable. Is it unreasonable that I expected the first available room considering I was really the first person to check in that day at 8AM? No I do not think so. The manager gave me a continuous stream of lies as to why he could not get me a room sooner and I never stand for 2nd rate behavior. Moreover, the hotel is really shabby. The bathtub in our room had a bunch of nicks in it that were puttied over and there were a lot of exposed screws along the fixtures that were rusting and making a mess. The plaster above the lobby indoor fountain was peeling in a big noticeable way. One of the two elevators that was working that morning was broken by the afternoon, don't get stuck! Free breakfast that is included is not very impressive. There is a pipe out by the pool that sprays a leak every 20 seconds, probably sewage. Judging by the huge rust spot around the pipe, it looks like this pipe has been leaking for quite some time! I mean, come on, just put a rag over it or something until a more permanent fix can be applied. My overall impression is that this hotel puts forth no effort in both maintenance and service. I will not recommend this place to anybody. Spend the extra money and stay at a "nice" place in South Beach. Be warned!

Comfort on the Beach
By Henry M, 5/7/04
We stayed at the Comfort Inn on the Beach twice when visiting family in Miami. Both times, the overall experience was good. We had a room facing the street with a microwave and refrigerator in a small kitchen, which was very convenient for snacks. The pool is large and was clean, and we had easy access to the beach. The continental breakfast was much better than that we've had in many other hotels, with coffee, choice of juices, yogurt and cereals, bread and danish and some fresh fruit, with a toaster and microwave as needed.
We will go back to this hotel any time we can.

Miami Beach Comfort Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/18/04
Although the location is good, the hotel suffers from tired rooms due to the building's old age. During our 4 night stay, we experienced one morning with no hot water in the hotel, one night we lost electricity in our room twice due to a 'problem in an adjoining room', and long waits for our car to be retrieved from the 'valet only' parking lots. Staff was always apologetic to the problems. The hotel does serve a reasonable light breakfast and has a nice pool and lobby area. Difficult to recommend, even at value price.
