Angsana Laguna Phuket, Thalang

Awesome place for couples or family. The staff were excellent in hosting us and there are a lot activities just staying at the hotel. Besides that, the beach behind the hotel is great as it is not packed with people like Patong beach, ideal for couples to get away from the crowd. I would truly recommend others to try this hotel out if you are heading to Phuket. 2 thumbs up for Sheraton Grande Laguna! Cheers!

We stayed in a Lagoon room. It's really great especially the elephants, Yum Yum and Lily, I loved them and missed them so much. The beach is excellent, and the spa is unforgettable. All the staff are very nice. The only thing that probably is not so good is that the food in the hotel are some what expensive when compared with outside hotel. Anyway I loved the environment so much.

We stayed at the Sheraton for a week for a very special occasion. Sheraton staff and their professionalism were of the highest standard. We were completely happy with everything. We had also booked three lagoon rooms for our family. On arrival We were greeted warmly and swept away on a boat to our private villa for check in. We never saw the reception until a day later. Villa � Our private villa 1425 was gorgeous with our own private jetty. The villa consisted of downstairs and upstairs. The lounge room was on the first floor with lounge and two comfortable chairs, dining table, coffee table, Plasma TV, CD player, small fridge, coffee/teas facilities, with a private balcony. A toilet was also downstairs with a great make-up mirror. Upstairs consisted of a spacious bedroom with a lovely comfortable king size bed. Two side tables, large wardrobe and working desk with internet. The bathroom was absolutely fabulous with a large shower, vanity unit, toilet, and an outdoor spa and shower which was gorgeous. Overall, we found the villa to be fantastic and suited our every need. The bathroom ended up being our favourite place. The outdoor spa with the best jets was just amazing and also very, very romantic. Lagoon Rooms -. Our family were completely happy with their rooms. The rooms were spacious with two double beds, which we had requested. All had balconies and large modern bathrooms. We were extremely happy with the standard of these cheaper rooms. Food - We dined in every restaurant of the hotel and found the best to be Chao Lay. It served authentic Thai cuisine which was of the highest quality. The Grekko restaurant on the waterfront was also excellent with a large selection of fresh seafood available. Breakfast was terrific with a large variety of food on offer. We also had breakfast in the Puccini restaurant which was opened only to villa guests and found the service slow. The Tea House served Chinese cuisine which we also found to be excellent. Swimming Pool and amenities - We visited every resort in the Laguna complex and found apart from the Banyan Tree the Sheraton Pool to be the best. It�s super large which meanders through the gardens of the resort. There are plenty of deck chairs and the pool side service was good but a little slow. The beach offers plenty of towels and deck chairs too. A children�s pool is also a good size. There are plenty of activities for families to enjoy. Other Resorts - You basically catch the free ferry or shuttle bus to any of the six Laguna resorts. The Banyan Tree resort is the only one you cannot swim at, although you can use the golf course or restaurants. You can charge bills back to your hotel room from any of the resorts. Tours � A must do is catching a speed boat to James Bond Island. There are heaps of tours available to any of the major attractions. Make sure you bargain HARD for the right price. I have given the Sheraton a 5 plus rating for staff, location, rooms, and the overall Sheraton experience.

I wanted to try the Sheraton to see whether it would be better than the Banyan Tree. Well...it wasn't, althought it is still a very nice hotel. We actually stayed at one of the duplex villas over the lagoon. You have a nice living and dining area on the lower level, while the bedroom and bathroom is upstairs. It is very spacious and you get the high ceiling and great views of the lagoon. The disappointment was in the bathroom, with the outdoor shower. It just wasn't up to par with the rest of the outdoor baths. We actually checked out of the Sheraton and into the Banyan Tree afterwards, and were much happier.

I like this hotel because when you enter they have guards that cover the main entrance that pull up a stop stick or whatever it is so you can enter. From there you see a beautiful sight a lake that with a boat that carries you from one place to another as the other side of the hotel, shopping area in the area, and other places. The main lobby is a sight and its beautifully made in the interior of the lobby. The rooms are amazing. The staff is great, the room service is great and the food. It has everything you can ask for a pool that has a bridge that goes across it and a bar so you can drink while sitting in the breeze of the beach nearby. It contains a beach nearby that is open at times when the red flag is not there. The best i think is the serivce they do when you want to go to the morning buffets you can call the main desk or service desk and ask for a person to drive you infront of the buffet in a ride in the nice morning breeze on a golf cart that goes across the bridge over the pool and at times the driver makes it fun. Great hotel it contains everything I tell you even some europeans stay a month of more there! its a friendly environment for kids and newly weds.

The hotel is conveniently located with four other hotels right beside the beach. You can use any facilities of the other hotels in the Laguna Area but Sheraton is the only one beside the beach. The value is really good because some of the other hotels charge much more and there isn't that much facilities. The beds are really comfortable and the Villas are great! The staff knows your name when you step into the hotel and you can rent movies for free. There are recreational activities such as canoeing, jet-skiing and a games center.

We went there on our honeymoon and they treated us so well. We had a Lagoon Villa and it was serene. We were treated like royalty and the food is delicious at the hotel too!

Pros: 1. Reasonable rates during off-peak season. 2. Large pool. 3. Nice staff. 4. Close to the beach. 5. Part of a larger complex that has many shops. 6. Close to golfing (for those that golf). Cons: 1. Moderately far away from nightlife areas in Phukey (Patong). The ride is about twenty to twenty-five minutes - which may set you back a fair amount of baht. 2. Rooms seem to be somewhat dated compared to other Starwood Properties I have been to in Thailand.
