Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/08
My husband and I only stayed over one night but we had a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We have no complaints about this hotel and would stay again.

Pay for what you get.

This hotel is in a great location. Across the river from the convention center and BCBS arena it affords great views of the city from most rooms). It was updated in the past few years and has the best bedding/decor that I've seen in a long time (rivaling that of Vegas for fluffy comforters, soft sheets, and elegant bath fixtures). Sadly the good review ends with the physical nature of the hotel. The garage recently imploded and was rebuilt- unfortunately that means construction areas limit the convenience. When we visited the indoor carport was closed and there is no easy street access. Additionally the garage is now run by the city- so parking is NOT free (nor cheap for hotel guests). The hotel doesn't limit costs in other areas as well. Internet service is only available for an additional fee and breakfast is available for an overpriced cost (this is downtown Rochester, NY after all). The pool area and spa was nice but the weight room was limited to a sparse number of freeweights (practically nowhere to use them) probably due to liabilities. When a problem arose it was evident that communication between the restaurant and the hotel as well as the service units were quite poor in meeting our needs in anything considered quick (Only two towels we there for a family of four staying in a room with two double beds? Is it too much to ask?). We travel to Rochester often and usually stay at the Holiday Inn Express. For the money I will remember to call before the Holiday Inn is booked in the future. Beautiful Rooms!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/07
After reading some of these reviews I was concerned about staying here, but I was pleasantly surprised. Perhaps the Hyatt has updated their rooms recently, because our room was absolutely wonderful. It was very clean, and the furniture and bedding looked brand new. The bed was huge and comfy! I would definitely stay here again.

Desparately in need of updating
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/06
The Hyatt in Rochester has a nice foyer and bar area. But, when we made it to our room (which was a suite), it was disgusting. There were stains all over the rugs. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable (it was a hideaway!) The furniture was old and chipped. It is in desparate need of an updating. I would never recommend this place.

Excellent in all ways - especially accomodating for a large group. Newly renovated rooms are a real plus - very, very upscale - comfy beds, plush !!!

Good Hotel but not great
By Brettlw, 03/07/06
There were people working on the parking garage next door at 2 AM. I could not sleep. Also, the wireless connection did not work. I got a plug in and was apply to log in to the internet but it was very slow and choppy. The room was not cleaned until 5 PM one day. The towels were small and very old. No exta lotions or small soaps.

loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/06
I was just there this weekend for pleasure and it was wonderful. The room was decorated beautifully, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean. If you are looking for somewhere to stay for business or please but want class -then the hyatt is the place to stay.

Nice Entry but Motel 6 rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/04
The hotel had a BEAUTIFUL entry, but when you got to the room, the toilet seat was yellow, the bed was as hard as a brick, paint pealing off the wall in the bathroom, furnature looked like it came from Khalis, Iraq. GOD KNOWS what was on the bedspread. All and all, I was disappointed in it being a Hyatt. Don't stay here if you dont have too. Someone needs to tell Hyatt that this hotels room is in the Motel 6 Quality.
