DOING IT RIGHT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/16/07
This hotel is the way to go. After a great nights sleep in a very clean and comfortable room start your day with a great breakfast buffet. The young lady who was the hostess and waitress had a very good command of the english language. Food was good and the fruit was fresh. I think they keep some of the best coffee beans for the people in CR themselves. The owners a nice couple from Austin, TX. were very friendly and made you feel welcome. The staff had it together and kept the grounds looking great. The food was excellent and reasonable. If you take your computer along you have wifi connection to keep in touch with the folks back home. In the morning you watch the monkeys in the tops of the trees going to work (lol) heading west towards the beach. In the evening you see them heading back home. The casino was ok but not what you think it will be on US standards. The bar and game area is an attraction at night that will prove to be very entertainging. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

I WILL DEFINETLY RETURN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/5/06
Two friends and I stayed at Hotel Byblos for 8 days and had a WONDERFUL experience. The staff was extremely efficient, courteous and helpful. The food was excellent, the rooms were large, beds very comfortable, and the rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day. There were fresh flowers in our room daily. Everything was sparkling clean. Nearly all the staff was bi-lingual. If we needed information or suggestions, all we had to do was ask. The pool was beautiful, with a family of monkeys close by to entertain us. The complementary breakfast was wonderful each morning, including an ample assortment of the fresh fruit Costa Rica is known for. It was wonderful to walk to the other nearby shops and the beach. In the evenings the upstairs bar and casino hosted a lot of fun people! I definetly plan to return.

Decent Place
By Ralph, 10/7/04
Stayed there for a couple of nights. The property is in good shape. Across the highway (if you want to call it that) from the beach side, but good views of the ocean. Most of the hotels in this area (of which there are a bunch) are in the hills outside the little town of Quepos. The bar downstairs is very nice. We were there in the "Green" (marketing talk for rainy) season, so not too many tourists around. The hotel was almost empty. Coffee machine in the room, but no coffe on the first night. Coffee cups with complementary mold growing in them. Price is about average for this area and type of hotel (US$75/night). Desk staff have a decent grasp of the english language. I hear it is owned by a French company (they also have two casinos in the area, one in the hotel complex).
