Super 8 Dahlonega, Dahlonega

I guess the old saying..."You get what you pay for" applies here. The rate was what brought us to this motel in addition to the nice photographs. Beware...the photographs shown are not those of the Dahlonega, Georgia location. If they are, they must have been taken 50 years ago because this place is a dump. We reserved the room the night before arriving and were supposed to be able to check in at 2:00pm; however, the room was not ready until 3:00pm (that alone was enough to ruin the day). We finally get into the room...it stunk, the air conditioner didn't work, the room was filthy even after being cleaned, horrible reception on the television,,,and it took three trips to the front desk to convince the manager that I knew what I was talking about regarding the air conditioner not working. I asked for my money back, so that I could simply leave and take my family to a much nicer motel across the street, which of course the manager refused to do. He finally agreed to give us another room with an air conditioner that did work, but everything else was just as bad. Take my advice...spend the extra $20 and go across the street...much nicer motel and a great view. Will NEVER EVER stay here again.

We like the location, value (economical), very clean, friendly customer service and continental breakfast. Next to McDonald's and very close to downtown. Extremely quiet and pleasant with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Unique botanical greenery in the lobby and very hiker friendly (we are Appalachian Trail thru hikers). There looks to be a laundromat down the hill, post office nearby, and a convenience store. The room is more than functional with refrigerator, microwave, ironing board, iron, coffee pot, hair dryer, phone, tv, and nice furniture. There is nothing to dislike. Best of all, we like the friendly and helpful customer service.

Close to town, large clean room, clean bath and good amenities such as cable, Wi-Fi that is 54 Mbs, fridge, micro, coffee maker and desk for computer. Walking distance (300 ft) to McDonalds if you wish.
