Westgate Vacation Villas, Kissimmee

We booked Westgate Villas Orlando, FL for our vacation. What we didn't realize was that this place was a timeshare marketing scheme! Upon check-in, we were told to come in the next day to the lobby for complementary breakfast and an "orientation" to the property. What this orientation turned out was a timeshare sales pitch! We were assigned a sales rep, who insisted that we sign the "deal" right there! No time to wait and think, or "the deal won't last"! When we told her that we were not interested, she called other sales reps who tried to pressurize us into signing a contract w/them... a $55,000 (fifty five thousand dollars) contract! We tried explaining to these sales harpies that we were in town for a short vacation, and do not feel comfortable making an impulsive long term commitment, but they just turned insulting! So, they're willing to risk losing you as a customer forever, than to give you a day or two to think about their timeshare offer... makes you wonder why??? Btw, their complementary breakfast was the worst I have ever had... even when compared to cheap Motel 6 breakfast! Oh, and btw, they will charge you an extra $10/day resort fee... for "extras", such as room safe and internet, which is fine, except... there was no safe in the room and the internet signal was so week, I couldn't even open my gmail! Bottom line... you can have a much more pleasant, comfortable and harassment free stay, for a lot cheaper at many other hotels/motels... just do your research before you book.

Is there not a long wait for some things at Disney World, at the supermarket, or even if you expect a quick run to CVS... Unfortunately, we just have to wait for some things in life that is worth waiting for and Westgate Villas is worth waiting for. The staff was wonderful, the entire location inside and outside was spotless(I'm pretty anal when it comes to cleaniness), you receive shuttle services for free to close locations, entertainment is close, and you receive easy access to theme park tickets. I love the place and plan on attending again very soon. Go and make your own judgment... we learn from experience right???

Made reservations before reading reviews, was worried. Once we got there I though was I reading reviews for a different place. We own 4 time shares, none of them West Gate. ( Disney,Diamond Resorts,Marriott,& Fanasea in A.C.) Staff was great, place was spotless. and was not forced to go to any sales pitch and this was even when asked at check-in if we were owners or traded in to the resort.

Me and my husband own a timeshare we took are 2 girls krystal (13) and melanie (10) they loved it! 7 days there alot you can do ride bikes, play tennis, and paddle boat. And when you take your kids to the theme park you can buy your tickets in the front lobby where there is also a movie theater. So if you need a place to get away WITH the kids go to Westgate Vacation Villas. I cant wait to go back in July 2010!

Just returned from a 7day stay in a 3BR villa. Our annual reunion with friends was ruined because of the lack of attention to basic necessities and customer satisfaction. It was a horror from day 1 -NO HEAT- NO HOT WATER. Outside temps were in the 30's. Inside temp was 66! After several calls to front desk/maintenance, a "technician" responded at 11:15 PM. Couldn't fix problem. Promised someone would fix it by 9AM next day.Other problems surfaced during the night. discovered bed was short sheeted in B unit and toilet wouldn't flush in B . It was reported to housekeeping staff the next am and I was told they would take care of it. Day 2- At 9:30 another call was made-finally by 10:00AM a "superviser" showed up to assess the problem (s). We needed a valve. We returned later in day to find that again NO HEAT. On a good note- we had hot water. Temps were falling in the villa. Again another call- "we're looking for the part" Hopefully it will be fixed "soon". At 9:30 PM another call to front desk, transfere to maintenance, and told "we're trying to locate the part". It will definitely be fixed by Monday. Another night in a cold room with many blankets on top of us. (temps in 20's and 30's outside) I slept with my clothes on and a jacket! Another call was made on Monday AM- problem WILL be fixed today. Day 3 We went out for the day- returned at 8:00PM to a COLD villa. Once again, another call down to the desk and a transfere to maintenance. After 10 min on hold, I was told "we can't fix it." My question to them "So are we suppposed to sleep for the third night in a cold room?" Ans.: "Well. We could move you!" Alas, an option that finally made sense. Maintenance transfered me again to the front Front desk. The clerk said that they would indeed move us and she would get back to us when the unit had been checked out. After an hour, I called again. "Oh yes. We have found you a unit. We will send someone with the room keys and help to move you." (Thanks for the promised return call) At 9:30 PM our rescuer arrived. We went up to the new suite and made sure that we had heat and hot water. By 10:30 that night, we finally were all moved in. (clothes, suitcases, food etc.) We were told by this nice man, that we should have been moved the first night. No offer was made to us. We stayed in good faith that the problem would be taken care of. We should have insisted that we be moved. Truly an error on our part. NO follow up call was made to us during the remainder of our stay to find out if our new accomodations were okay. Nice customer satisfaction! I guess they just don't care. Didn't bother us with sales talk either. Probably didn't dare. We have stayed at several timeshare resorts in Orlando. All great experiences. We just like to try new every year. This was the worst. No five star in my book. Ad reads "offers first rate accomodations" Not so. Travelers beware. My money will be spent elsewhere next year. Pluses: many pools.

My wife and I were looking for a will-call booth at Planet Hollywood in Vegas for a show that we wanted to see. After asking for direction at a hotel information booth, the conceirge offered us two free tickets and dinner, if we spent 90 minutes taking a tour of the new WG complex being built on the strip. After talking with my wife, we figured we could get the perks offered and save money on the trip. Further, I figured we could easily say no. They had promised lunch, which wasn't more than a soda and chips, and we ended up spending 25 minutes in a waiting room before they called us in for a 5 hour sales assault. They seemed to profile each couple based on race and economic level. After working to earn trust for 2 hours, they started pitching, in spite to telling us that it was no pressure. We ended up missing our show, because after saying no to the initial offers, a manager was called over to pitch us another option of buying someone else's timeshare for a smaller cost which took additional time. If you do get hooked into their deal, make sure you find the contract with the 5 day out clause. The sales reps will not tell you about it, but rather hide the information in the book they give you, hoping you will not challenge the issue after you have had ample time to realize that one week timeshares are a wasted investment, and no amount of getaway packages will equal the value that you will invest in the payments. Beware of their sales tactics. When we explained that we didn't have the money to waste, our representative totally changed body language trying to guilt us for the time he spent selling us condos and all the free perks the WG company was giving away to us. A number of sales pitches were not true in the contractual fine print. It is not a property investment because even if you decide to sell it, the management company has the right to dictate new provisions on those buyers. My advice, if it is too good to be true - It probably is! As far as I am concerned Westgate owes me and my wife 5 hours of our vacation, which no amount of tickets to cheap Vegas shows will equal.

The villa was beautiful the rooms were clean but the minute you turn on the light big roaches run every where. I evan got 3 bites from them. all they wanted to do was pay my dr. bill i told them no thanks I took care of that..They could of at least gave me another chance to stay there after they clean it up, but they did not the health dept needs to close them down,Some of the roaches were big black sewer roaches.I wrote to the ceo and got no where., dont unpack your bags cause you can take them home with you.and not evan know it. The wosrt part was i was in a wheel chair and they got all over me when I went to take a shower, the office heard every thing going on because they were on the phone with my hubun when I was getting in the shower they evan heard me scream they didnt evan care, So instead of staying a week we were only ther two night after that we were out of there.And demanded a full refund which took a week to get it.so we had to drive all the way back to michigan, there was no other places to stay. So beware ! they only want you money they dont care, where they put you you dont evan get a handicapp room when you book it, you have to fight for one when you get there. I evan bought home one big one that my husbun killed and sent them a pic they still did not care.

We rented a 1 bedroom villa . The villa was clean and nicely maintained. But we had problems like one of the bathroom flush was not working and it was mentioned in the reservation that we will get the washer n dryer in the villa which was not there. Also some of the housekeeping girls were peeping from the windows in the room which may be scary if u dont know their intentions.Had bad experience in people knocking your doors in the name of housekeeping .Also Disliked the compulsary meeting with the westgate representative. Sales and marketing people take you 6-9 hours of time in compelling you to buy the timeshare. This happened once with my first vist to gatlinburg ,westagte resort but some how we avoided that time. But in Orlando they again took our full day for making us understand the things again n again. We ended up in buying the timeshare and hoping that we will have a nice intereaction with westgate people again. However the Staff (Other than scary housekeeping girls)is co-operative and nice. Please ensure that you dont have any compulsory meeting with the westagate people while you buy your vacation. Or be ready to loose your one day with them knowing all concepts of timeshares.Resort management should add timelines for this meetings.

This is a hard-sell time share. We had never been to a timeshare presentation so we decided what the heck. Our meeting with the WG representatives was for 8:30 in the morning. When we didn't bite they brought in a second person to talk us into it, then a third. By the time we got away from them it was after 3:30. I feel like I lost a day of my vacation. They were definitely trying to promote a sense of urgency to buy because while they were doing their spiel there were constant announcenments telling the reps to take one property or another off the list because it was sold BTW they also seem to play fast and loose with the numbers. They never actually said it; but if you watch the scribbles closely a 4 br/4 wk timeshare would cost you around 40K at 18% interest. Not my cup o' tea.

this is a good resort to stay and and take advantage of their free tickets and cheap stay. DONT BUY! We regret that we bought with westgate, our friends have another time share that uses a point system and it is a much better system if u want a time share. We deposited our week and were told that it would be a 130 dollars to exchange. So I called to booked in late march and now they are telling me I also have to pay 500 dollars because it is a higher season than my purchased week.When I called to deposit/exchang my week the rep never told me I would have to pay more. I talked with a westgate supervisor and she said "well your contract from 2004 says that". who rememebers that far back, the guy should have told me that when i deposited my week but the supervisor kept insisting that I was told that when i signed my contract. I pd 500 for maintaince fees and now i have to pay 130 exchange fee and 500 dollars for a higher season so that totals 1130 for a week at westgate.That is a rib off, i would rather rent a house or stay at a nice hotel for that. USE THEM, DONT LET THEM USE YOU!
