Sheraton Birmingham Hotel, Birmingham

King-Size Bed very comfortable; Hi-Def LED television; room was large enough for another roll away bed. Sheraton B'ham is better than most downtown hotels I visited across the US. The "self-parking" garage ($8/day in Dec 2009) was across the street, very convenient. Could not get a luggage dolly without paying for a bell hop. Thankfully our luggage has wheels. If need a very good hotel in downtown Birmingham for any reason, the Sheraton is an outstanding choice.

Serive was very poor. Pool broken and closed every other day. Elevators were aweful and slow (broken half the time). Room service was never adequate (always had to call front desk for towels, toilet papers, and other things. For 7 days never had proper service.) Food was over priced.

Very disappointed in Sheraton. Parking was designed to make sure you use valet. They would not let you use a cart to take luggage up to your room. Had to pay attendant if you didn't want to lug it yourself. No comfortable chair in the room to rest, had to lie down or sit in kitchen table chair. Water faucet in bathroom was almost off. Brochure in room stated that fans were available. When we asked for one, they said they did not have fans. My husband talked to manager of hotel, Mr. Smith about getting a chair to sit in since I have a bad back, and he said there were none in hotel. We saw several vacant rooms with chairs but were not allowed to have one in our room. Manager never bothered calling us back. Brochure stated that Sheraton had a crosswalk to the concert hall. It does not, we had to walk a very long way in the cold. The crosswalk only goes to the meeting rooms. Very disappointed in Sheraton. We only paid for the name this time, we sure did not get the service or quality. We paid 215.00 and had to lie or sit on bed at all times.

LOCATION GOOD, COMFORTABLE, BUT NEEDS A RE-VAMP ON THE BASICS LIKE DOOR SLAM NOISE, MAINTENANCE, PAINT, BEDDING MATTRESS REPLACEMENT, MORE TOWELS IN ROOMS, FASTER ELEVATORS.

Roon was not so clean, no refrigerator, they try to charge me a connection fee close to $10 for each within US calls, they charge more than $10 per day for internet, no retataurants in walking distance, food in the hotel was not so special as well. Don't stay here...

For such a big name Hotel, you would think they could improve on the amenities. No free Internet...$13 a day.....no Fridge....parking was expensive and quite a walk from the room. The elevators were tore up. There was construction inside the hotel. The staff was nice enough...not friendly, but not rude either. Would stay at the Courtyard Marriott next time. Our relatives had a much nicer room and amenities.

The staff was polite at all times, even though they were booked to capacity. Linens were clean and plentiful and the bed was comfy, although the furniture is aging a bit. They have a shuttle to and from the airport, which is very helpful. The drivers we had were great guys. Several restaurants are onsite, from room service to a bar and grill, to Subway. Free wifi in the lobby area, which has lots of comfortable seating and outlets.

From our initial contact with the valet (a great young guy, Timothy) to our check in with Barbara (who was so kind to myself and daughter) who made a personal effort to provide us with the best view, every moment of our stay at the Birmingham Sheraton was a true pleasure. Our room was spotless, the beds were wonderful and the environment was quiet and restful. Abundant thanks to Barbara for her kindness and hospitality. She even had chilled Mt Dew waiting in our room when we returned from the Alabama/Georgia game! We want to return to Birmingham next season so we can see Barb and Timothy again!

was not as good as it looks. very dissapointing for a Sheraton. Staff not very cooperative. Not many free ammenities. Rooms need update and not as clean

I did not experience any of the complaints that I have read. Quick check in. Rooms was very clean. bed was super nice. Room service was quick and hot. Easy access to civic center. Overall, A super experience!!!!!
