A dump!
By PC Dude, 7/2/11
As others have said in their reviews the managers really should reconsider how they arrange the proximity of the smoking and non-smoking rooms. I was at the east end of the hotel near where the pool is and I smelled smoke in my room and in the hall all night. The air conidtioner made so much noise I could not sleep at all. The decor looks like something from the 1960s. They really should consider redecorating or at least bring the decor up to 1990s styling. I will probably never stay at another Days Inn again if this is how the main company allows the individual owners and managers run their franchises.

Adequate
By Becca, 12/9/08
We booked our room from the website. Sight unseen. It was close to the Great Lakes Naval Training Facility and we wanted to be close, but not too close to the traffic and noise on that side of town. We booked for 3 days to spend time with our son who was graduating. If we had known there was a new HiEx nearby, we would have stayed there instead. When we arrived, the clerk was personable and we went straight to our room. It looked clean. Our room was ok. No visible odors or anything out of the ordinary. Towels were really scratchy. The second night some drunk people tried shoving their keycard into our door and woke us up at 3am. They had the wrong room. It scared me! The next night, a couple were up all night partying and making "noise" . It seemed to be a safe and quiet place from the outside. Some people just have no respect for others. Libertyville was a great area. Everything you need is close by. Great donut shop called Lees, had fresh doughnuts, but the coffee was just so so. Jimmy's Charhouse was awesome! Great for a graduation celebratory dinner, very reasonably priced for a fancy celebration. This hotel is close to everything you would need for a visit with your graduate. But if you can afford a better hotel, you might want to get an upgrade.

This place is a DUMP!
By Muse, 7/30/08
We stayed at this Days Inn for two nights. The rooms look as if they have not been updated since it originally opened. My daughter had little bites all over her legs (bedbugs?) after we stayed there. To top it all off on Sunday morning we were rudely awaken by a very LOUD church service going on in the conference room right next to our room! When I complained to the manager all they offered me was a $25 discount. I would strongly suggest spending a few extra dollars and staying in the Gurnee area instead of this run-down Days Inn.

Breakfast Worse Than The Service
By Yahoo User, 6/8/08
Customer service is what most of the people that work at this place lack. Don't they have customer service training or something? I guess that reflects from the front desk manager. We stayed at the hotel for a month as we were getting our home renovated. The hotel was not too far from our home and our son's school, so we found it ideal, also considering the price. What we first noticed about the hotel was that the smoking and non-smoking rooms were mixed in, as in we were in a non-smoking room, but the neighboring room and the one across from us was a smoking room, so the smoke from the other rooms would linger in the hallway and sometimes the odor would enter our room. Some of the furniture in our room was broken. Going to the front desk to ask for extra pillows or anything was always a challenge - they never had pillows or blankets. The mini-fridge was in the bathroom. Our room was cleaned well sometimes, but other times it would look as if it hadn't been cleaned at all and if we were to request re-cleaning, they would say we would have to wait until the next day. The breakfast was probably worse than the customer service. Breakfast usually had few options and was usually the same two cereals (corn flakes and raisin bran), English muffins and bagels. Occasionally, they had a few more options, but that was a rarity. There's a far better hotel about ten minutes away (Comfort Inn of Mundelein) that cost only ten dollars more and has better customer service and a much better breakfast (it's hot breakfast). We stayed there after strongly disliking the service at this dump.

No pillows?!!!!
By Sara E, 5/16/05
When I got there they had lost my reservation so luckily enough my friends let me bunk with them. I am 8 months pregnant and requested a cot. When the cot arrived it only came with a sheet. There weren't any pillows or blankets. I called down to the lobby and asked for them and they said they didn't have either. After telling my friend about this, she went down to the lobby and requested them. I guess she put up a big enough stick because she came back with 2 stained pillows and a king size blanket. I hate being lied to! The continental breakfast was disgusting, soggy waffles, brown bananas, and out of O.J. When we called the main chain to make a grievence they told me to take it up with the manager in the morning, as if I had time to. After all I had to be at a naval bootcamp graduation at 0645.
