Breakfast Worse Than The Service
Customer service is what most of the people that work at this place lack. Don't they have customer service training or something? I guess that reflects from the front desk manager.
We stayed at the hotel for a month as we were getting our home renovated. The hotel was not too far from our home and our son's school, so we found it ideal, also considering the price. What we first noticed about the hotel was that the smoking and non-smoking rooms were mixed in, as in we were in a non-smoking room, but the neighboring room and the one across from us was a smoking room, so the smoke from the other rooms would linger in the hallway and sometimes the odor would enter our room. Some of the furniture in our room was broken. Going to the front desk to ask for extra pillows or anything was always a challenge - they never had pillows or blankets. The mini-fridge was in the bathroom. Our room was cleaned well sometimes, but other times it would look as if it hadn't been cleaned at all and if we were to request re-cleaning, they would say we would have to wait until the next day.
The breakfast was probably worse than the customer service. Breakfast usually had few options and was usually the same two cereals (corn flakes and raisin bran), English muffins and bagels. Occasionally, they had a few more options, but that was a rarity.
There's a far better hotel about ten minutes away (Comfort Inn of Mundelein) that cost only ten dollars more and has better customer service and a much better breakfast (it's hot breakfast). We stayed there after strongly disliking the service at this dump.
