Velas Vallarta Suite Resort, Puerto Vallarta

When i first arrived i must say that i was rather impressed with velas vallartas, but as the day progressed and i started to find dead rats in my room my attitude towards the resort changed! I contacted the manager about our (rather large) rat problem and he apologized and sent a maid to clean them out and gave us a gift basket. The next day we took advantage of the free mountain bikes and when we got back we went to the pool. At the pool i was stunned, however, to find that my 14 year old son was extremely intoxicated from mixed drinks that the bartenders had been serving him from the swim up bar. We had to go to the hospital to get his stomach pumped and needless to say it was a huge ordeal. The next day i got sick from the water i believe and threw up on my mother on her 85th birthday that we were celebrating. All in all this was a horrible experience that i would like to forget as soon as possible

Older teens/young adults are loking for things to do after 9-10:00 pm...The resort needs to look to improve the activities for younger adults...maybe mid-night volley-ball, BBQ in the beach at night, disco/club atmosphere. The resort needs to let folks know about the VIP from the Airport and what to do before your get to Mexico. The resort needs to inform the quest about Tipping as it is all inclusive. Is it proper, where and when...

The overall experience was below average. I was disappointed with the misleading information I was presented before I even checked in by the hosts. If you are planning on going to Velas Vallarta do not go on the tour to recieve discounts on certain attractions(30-50%)Because you recieve it free if you don't agree to go on the tour. The host said it would take no longer then 90 minutes. 4 hours later I was hounded by sales people not taking "No" for an answer.

We went two times before and are staying there for the 3rd time at Winter Break. Our family really liked it's location by the Marina and the amenities. Beachfront could be nicer,less rocky bottom, but it is kept up every morning in the sand areas.

There are beautiful pools, one with a bar,activities all day,or just relax.Delphino, the outdoor activity guy is really good.There are three great restaurants, Poolside bar Plus it,s all inclusive,eat,drink all day,at the restaurants,they even stock your room with food.24 hr room service. At nite they have entertainment, and /or they take you into downtown P.V. Thats another thing, the hotel is in the Marina section, across from a golf course thats O.K. The true golfer plays about 20 min away at Vista Vallarta,where you can choose between 2 great courses. Bringing the kids this time.Did I mention jetski,and beach 2ft. away, ENJOY!

What can I say. It's home away from home, just better. The staff are amazing. Trust me, we are booking our 4th trip!!! The best chicken ever at the plaza down the street.

Sevice terrible, food yuck, pool side service wonderful. Nightlife none, switched room 3 times. Brekfast was the best meal of the day. Do not do the all inclusive.

My fourth trip to Puerto Vallarta and my first time at the Velas Vallarta. It is a wonderful place and the all-inclusive is a must. DO NOT do the time share presentation (they call it fractional ownership); it takes a full morning and is not worth the price or time. Go to the pool instead and relax with some drinks! The rooms are very nice (though they could use a little paint); the beds are fantastic! Great service and very kind and friendly people. The restaurants are wonderful, but you must try "Alejandros" (which is in the hotel but they don't say much about it)! Wonderful food and the best service! All of the food is great for American tastes (and they serve Budweiser products for the beer drinkers). The property is beautiful, the grounds well kept, great golf close by, and the pools are excellent! We will certainly return to this resort@! Have fun at the Velas!

Velas Vallarta is the most beautiful hotel I've been to in over 10 trips to PV. The pool areas are georgeous and clean and waiters are always there cheerfuly with refreshments. The rooms are great and all have balcony views of the pool and beach area. The maids even turn down your bed blankets and leave chocolates bedside. Food is excellent whether in the formal restaurant or the beachside openair one. The All Inclusive option is great if you eat only at the hotel. But if you like going to town every night for dinner at different restaurants, then I'd recommend "pay as you eat and drink" at the hotel. Transportation by city bus or taxi is readily available. The only complaint I have is the car rental, which is through Thrifty. They quote US dollars and then don't tell you about their very unfavorable conversion to pesos.
