Velas Vallarta Suite Resort, Puerto Vallarta

We went two times before and are staying there for the 3rd time at Winter Break. Our family really liked it's location by the Marina and the amenities. Beachfront could be nicer,less rocky bottom, but it is kept up every morning in the sand areas.

I pretty muched loved evrything about this place!! the service and staff are excellent. i made some awsome friends on the staff. the ladies are beautiful!

The overall experience was below average. I was disappointed with the misleading information I was presented before I even checked in by the hosts. If you are planning on going to Velas Vallarta do not go on the tour to recieve discounts on certain attractions(30-50%)Because you recieve it free if you don't agree to go on the tour. The host said it would take no longer then 90 minutes. 4 hours later I was hounded by sales people not taking "No" for an answer.

This was a beautiful resort. I especially liked the pools, as it was like having 4 pools all connected together. The service was excellent, and the resort immaculately clean. Thank you Capitan for an excellent dinner! The salad bar was fantastic!

What can I say. It's home away from home, just better. The staff are amazing. Trust me, we are booking our 4th trip!!! The best chicken ever at the plaza down the street.

There are beautiful pools, one with a bar,activities all day,or just relax.Delphino, the outdoor activity guy is really good.There are three great restaurants, Poolside bar Plus it,s all inclusive,eat,drink all day,at the restaurants,they even stock your room with food.24 hr room service. At nite they have entertainment, and /or they take you into downtown P.V. Thats another thing, the hotel is in the Marina section, across from a golf course thats O.K. The true golfer plays about 20 min away at Vista Vallarta,where you can choose between 2 great courses. Bringing the kids this time.Did I mention jetski,and beach 2ft. away, ENJOY!

Super hotel, Stayed 7/30-8/5/2005 Went with friends our suite had 3 bedrooms 2 baths. Service was great everyone spoke english,3 pools to cool off and a ocean next to the resort. The weather was hot mid 90's if you like it hot! THE POOL SEVICE IS GREAT "PLASE TIP" if you want the person to remember you and what you drink ask for Javier aka Super Waiter. Going back next year with the Kids!!

MY FIRST TIME IN PUERTO VALLARTA AND I HAD A GOOD TIME. THE HOTEL WAS VERY BEAUITFUL AND THE SERVICE WAS GREAT!!! THE ROOMS ARE COOL THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE HOME AND THE POOLS WERE COOL. I CANT WAIT TO GO THERE AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

My wife and I stayed at Velas for 11 days from the end of April through early May. Overall, our experience was fantastic. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful. Food in both restaurants is excellent. The pools and the view of the ocean and Puerto Vallarta are excellent. The only drawback we found was the constant presence of time share salesmen. As a word of advice, unless you want to buy a time share, avoid the waste of your valuable vacation time. If you want to do anything that they could offer a discount for, just pay the difference and save a day. You will love the hotel. It is a little far to town but, taxis are inexpensive and it is a beautiful place to walk.

The Velas Vallarta is a beautiful property in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. However, the location of this hotel is inconvenient for getting into town to experience Puerto Vallarta. It requires taxi rides, which can greatly increase your expenses. The last time I stayed there (and it will be the last time), we had problems with the air conditioner leaking water all over the floor. It took several complaints to get it fixed properly. But the worst experience, was that my friend and I left some cash hidden in a dress pocket in the closet....and it was stolen. To the management's credit, they did give us a voucher toward expenses at the hotel (which helped to pay for the expensive food and drinks), but it did not come close to replacing what we lost. There are much nicer, less expensive, and more convenient hotels in Puerto Vallarta.
