Velas Vallarta Suite Resort, Puerto Vallarta

This was my first trip to Puerto Vallarta, and I was really looking forward to some great authentic mexican food at the hotel but all I could find was everything but that. Their asian, italian, and american cuisine was absolutely fantastic, but the only mexican food I could find was some guacamole that was probably the best that I have ever had! Room service was pretty lame, and trying to get anything after ten is just almost impossible & The room service tortilla chips are terrible. But the pool atmosphere was awsome, drinks are non-stop. and the scenery is not too shabby either by the pool.

I own several suites at Velas Vallarta and use the resort for my family use and for rent using the internet. This provides me the opportunity as a timeshare owner to also exchange my suites to the Grand Velas and Casa Velas sister resorts for a little variety. I also have the opportunity to stay at the resort without paying the all-inclusive fee as do my friends or renters should they decide to eat out or they plan to go on a lot of tours. The Velas Vallarta offers great service and a variety of food which is why I love it. The location on the beach is great but like most resorts you have to walk to the local bus a couple of blocks away to get into town. The furniture may be worn in some suites due to the number of rentals and volume of people using the resort but would advise guests to tell them about the your concerns. I usually call my renters and find out what they liked and any concerns so that I get these things fixed for the next set of guests. This also helps them maintain their four star rating. Let them know if furniture and fixtures are worn or need replacing. I make the effort to communicate rather then grumble and not say a thing. Cleaniness is sometimes a concern as many people do not clean up their spills or leave a mess for the maids to clean. Does your suite look like a storm blew through it on your last day? You will find great value in the quality of the food they serve and the named brand drinks. Premium brands require you to go to the five star Grand Velas resort which is well worth the extra money if going all-inclusive. Look at vacationtimesharerentals or redweek and other sites and ask the owners if they will rent to you without the all-inclusive if that is what you want. Nothing ventured is nothing gained. You can make difference if you were taught to leave things in better condition then when you got it. Fill in the questionaire and help other guests make their vacation more enjoyable by submitting your concerns or have the resort address your particular problem. This should apply to all resorts. Make a difference!

Fast and efficient check in. Great view of the ocean. Clean large suite. Great food at all of the three on sight restaurants. Good service from all the staff!

Stayed here in late april '08 with friends. We booked a two room suite with a mini suite add on. The rooms were amazing, they had everything you needed to start a meal and the fridge was fully stocked with food. The beds had down comforters and the pillows had down as well. At the pool the service was excellent, there are plenty of waiters to bring drinks or food. Try the chicken quesadilla, they are really good. Overall we had a great time and can't wait to go back.

The facilities are excellent. The friendliness of the staff is a close second. I would heartily recomend a stay with these professionallt trained people. The remoteness to town requires a little patience with bus travel, but that is part of the adventure to foreign land.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. I researched several resorts before we went and I am so glad that we settled on this one. The property is beautiful, rooms are fantastic and the food was fantastic. I have nothing to complain about this resort. I would highly suggest to stay in the Marina Area, its quiter, newer and nicer. If you want to explore PV, take a taxi! Don't ride the bus, it's not worth the money that you save. My husband and I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Main dislike was the high pressure sales of the "Concierge" at the hotel. While waiting in the lobby for our room to be ready for us, we were approached by a concierge. What seemed like a rather easy going talk, quickly turned into a "come to our presentation" talk. Just ignore these people and they will leave you alone. The hotel staff was very accomodating. We paid for the AI, and were not let down as far as service goes. We ordered what ever we wanted for room servie - from a pizza to a couple cups of cappuccino. The food at the restaurants is only so so. While it is presented first class at Andrea - flavor is somewhat lacking. There were several large groups using the resort for meetings while we were there - could of done without them. Had a couples massage on the beach - a must if you enjoy massages!

My stay at Velas Vallarta could not have been any better. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. I stayed at a full suite and the accomodations were great we had a full kitchen, dining table and living room. We even had a patio. The outdoor dining facility right next to the beach was absolutely outstanding, I haven't had better shrimp scampi yet. They even had evening performances in the lobby. My only complaint is that they didn't allow anyone in the pool after hours which was about after midnight. Other than that I greatly recomend this resort.

My fourth trip to Puerto Vallarta and my first time at the Velas Vallarta. It is a wonderful place and the all-inclusive is a must. DO NOT do the time share presentation (they call it fractional ownership); it takes a full morning and is not worth the price or time. Go to the pool instead and relax with some drinks! The rooms are very nice (though they could use a little paint); the beds are fantastic! Great service and very kind and friendly people. The restaurants are wonderful, but you must try "Alejandros" (which is in the hotel but they don't say much about it)! Wonderful food and the best service! All of the food is great for American tastes (and they serve Budweiser products for the beer drinkers). The property is beautiful, the grounds well kept, great golf close by, and the pools are excellent! We will certainly return to this resort@! Have fun at the Velas!

I bought a timeshare at Velas and was totally misled. They forgot to tell me that you had to eat all your meals there after paying a fee. They quoted the cost of maintenance fees and when I rent to book I found that not to be true. Luckily they mistakenly gave me the she of paper they had written their promises on. So I faxed it to the corporate office and got my money back after alot of threats. They are the most dishonest group of people I have ever encountered.
