Great Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/10
A very nice hotel with truly exceptional service. Front desk staff gave great directions and dinner recommendations, and at breakfast Sharon went above the call of duty in helping us find pies to take to Thanksgiving in Ohio. Great location for visiting Carnegie or Pitt.

Service With A Smile!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/10
I went to Pittsburgh with my daughter so she could finish her classes for her nursing degree. We had the great pleasure of finding one of the best hotels. It had a little of everything and then some. First I should tell you that our room was definitely clean and very spacious. Having time for breakfast before a scheduled class in a place where the traffic time is unknown to you is hard to do, so even though the "breakfast to go" isn't supposed to be on weekends, they were glad to help us out. Of course when I returned after dropping my daughter off at school, I had a fabulous breakfast and it wasn't just cold cereal. I had my choice of eggs, meat, breads & muffins, fruits, juices, and cereal. While my daughter was at class I was going to stay in my room and read but the shuttle driver asked if I wanted to go and see some of the sites of the city. The city is beautiful and he stopped so I could get some pictures and told me some facts about the area and the buildings. When I returned I told the girl at the front desk that I was told that one of my daughters favorite restaurants was just a few miles away, she gave me very easy directions on how to get there and also talked to me about some of her favorite meals from that restaurant. Great advise! I would like to tell anyone that is planning to stay in the Pittsburgh area that this is not only an easily accessible hotel but the staff is as friendly and helpful as can be. Next weekend my daughter is going back to the area to finish her class and guess where we're staying?

All Star Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/3/07
I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. My husband and I stayed there in June for pretesting to donate a kidney to my sister. They were so wonderful to us. When we checked out I forgot my cell phone in the room and called them from the hospital. They assured me it would be at the front desk. When the shuttle driver picked us up she handed me my cell phone. When it came time for the actual donation I made sure my sisters stayed there. There are 4 of us and they knew us all by name. They even checked on our progress the day of and after surgery. The assistant manager went over and above the call of duty by picking up my husband and sister so they would not have a long wait for the shuttle the night of the surgery. This staff took the time to get to know us and were truly concerned with us and insuring our needs were met. We felt as if we had an extended family there. Hard to find in this day and age. If I ever return to Pittsburgh I will always make sure I stay here and highly recommend it to anyone else.

Excellent Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/06
My husband and I were in Pittsburgh for a meeting that lasted longer than we expected. We stayed the night before the meeting and checked out; however, we needed to stay another night due to the length of the meeting. Because of the unexpected second night we spent our stay at the Hampton in a different room each night. Both rooms were exceptionally clean...the cleanest I think I've ever been in. They were also very quiet and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were taken care of. The complimentary breakfast, 24 hour coffee/tea/hot chocolate & 24 hour internet service were also so much more than our friends had at a very expensive hotel in Pittsburgh. The free shuttle service was absolutely great!!! The shuttle drivers were very courteous and personable. Parking did cost $9 a night, but you park your car and don't have to worry about it the rest of your stay. The shuttle service saves you the cost of taxis or parking fees, not to mention trying to find your way around an unfamiliar city. I would definitely stay here again.

GREAT value for the money!
By Connie, 9/6/05
We chose this hotel because of the shuttle service. Drove from NJ in our RV, but stayed here. Did have lot in front to park RV. My daughter was in a wedding at PITT the end of May, 2005, and the shuttle was WONDERFUL taking us back & forth for sight-seeing; then rehearsals; rehearsal dinner; then the wedding, then the reception at another hotel!! Very polite & always willing to help us with any information & arrangements. Breakfast was mmmmmmmmmmmmm GOOD!! Not just cold cereal & some danish...but Eggs & sausage one day, pancakes another & fresh coffee all day. Free Internet service at front lobby so checking e-mail was a breeze. My son forgot his luggage & they had it right there in the office & mailed it back to us...for a fee of course, after all....that WAS our fault!! Would DEFINATELY recommend. Only con is $9 per night for parking, but nobody has parking in the PITT area!! :o)

Perfect for Pitt area school shopping
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/05
This is a great place if you are traveling on a budget. Nice, clean, comfortable. It has a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within three miles of the hotel, which includes downtown Pittsburgh and both the campuses of UPitt and Carnegie Mellon. It's easy to get to from the airport by public transportation. It's quiet, nice sized rooms, and free high speed internet access.

Friendly staff, clean rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/25/05
The staff was very helpful! The plus sides of this hotel is that they offer a complimentary shuttle to anywhere within 3 miles. They also offer a complimentary breakfast, 24 hour computer service, 24 hour tea and coffee, and complimentary copies of USA Weekly delivered right to your door! The lobby is beautiful and the rooms were very clean. It's also a short walk to 5th Avenue and Forbes Avenue, where many restaurants are located. Although, this area doesn't seem to be the best part of Pittsburgh. But with a complimentary shuttle, what more can you ask for? I would definitely stay here again.

Don't Arrive before 3 p.m.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/05
Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Do not arrive before 3 p.m. as your room will not be ready and they will not provide a cleaned room for early check in. We waited 3 hours in the Lobby.
