Generally nice. Not near bus stops
The lady who helped with breakfast,Becca, was really nice, as was the morning staff. We had a 1 bedroom suite. The bed was nice, but the pull-out bed was not that comfortable and can sleep 1 adult. My daughter had trouble finding position that was comfortable. I asked if they had any matress toppers for the bed, but they didn't. We spent 6 nights there with terrible weather, but we managed.
There is building all around the hotel, but we didn't hear anything. The entry doors slam easily and when your neighbor enters/exits their room late or early, you wake up. The room was clean. I'm not sure I'd stay here again..I'd check getting 2 rooms instead at another hotel closer to the bus stops.
If you take the train from the airport, get off at State and Lake and walk across the Dearborn bridge. It's about a 5 minute walk. That will be the area you can get all your buses also, or you can get them on Wacker. The bus drivers are very nice and helpful. You can get a 3 day bus pass at the CVS around the block behind the hotel.
Harry Carreys is across the street. We didn't eat there. There's a Giordanos just south of Michigan and Wacker on Lake. It's 1 block east on the south side of the street tucked off the street.
Make sure you take a segway tour. We had a blast with Segway Experience of Chicago. The address is on Michigan, but it's really on Jackson. There are others, but we used the Go-Chicago card and got 15% off the 10AM tour. The Go-Chicago card was useful and we got in almost every site we wanted without any problems. Make sure you don't go to any museum on a free day -- the kids are overwhelming.
You can skip the Planetarium if your city already has one. It wasn't very informative except for the telescope exhibit. The Aquarium was also something we realized we didn't need to see since we've been to a number of them around the country.
