Motel 6, Escondido

Used as anchor point only to lay our heads for 4 nights...room had musty smell that never went away, probably attibuted to carpet that we didn't walk on barefoot...older facility but well maintained (except for carpet & bedspread, which had cigarette holes in it in a non-smoking room) & nicely painted...key pass-fail for us is if sink holds water, shower doesn't spray all over the place, and toilet doesn't run all night, so it's a pass. Denny's next door...waiter was excellent...Marie Callender's w/i a mile or so...very good...Sunday buffet-only was pricey...trip highlight was visiting USS Midway in San Diego...highly recommended...spent 6 hrs & didn't see everything...don't pay for more than 3 hrs parking.

Worst place I have ever stayed at. It is infested with insects. I stayed for one night and had over 60 insect bites through out my legs!
