A nice place to stay near Niagara Falls
I spent a couple days in the Niagara Falls (Canada side) area with a friend in July '06, and we spent two nights at the Comfort Inn in Welland. We were lucky because I had accumulated enough points in the Choice Privileges program to earn two free nights here.
This Comfort Inn was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a typical self-serve breakfast that had cereal, bagels, bread to toast, and other things. Overall, the hotel was clean and nice-looking.
Only two complaints...there is no elevator, and the breakfast room was really crowded. They need a bigger space for breakfast. There were way too many people crowded in a small room to get their breakfast.
The lobby does have a computer that anyone can use to surf the Web, but the connection was very slow. But still...it was nice that I was able to check my email.
The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from downtown Niagara Falls, so it's not in the most convenient location. But it's worth it for anyone who travels on a tight budget.
I'd consider staying here again. :-)
