Business Class Hotel
By Alan, 9/24/06
First Impressions of the hotel: Business Class, and rather busy. The Holiday Inn was basically booked and recommended by our sister company in Bangkok when I made a business trip there in May 2006. The hotel was going through a refurbishment programme then, but noise and inconvenience to the customers or guests was very minimal. The staff were very pleasant, and the rooms are well kept and the amenities were adequate and satisfactory. One of the plus points of this hotel is the location, which provides easy access to shops and restaurants. I liked the lockable drawer which was big enough to fit my laptop and other valuables when I was not in the room. The other is the comfortable bed. I would return to the Holiday Inn Silom on my next visit to Bangkok.

Nice, convenient place to stay
By Zilker2000, 2/12/06
Located in a good location, walking distance from the Skytrain, look for gracious Thai service and decent rooms. Our room was nice sized, clean, with a spectacular view. The included breakfast buffet was presented on over 6 tables, with staff present to serve your every need. Only thing I would watch for; if you are quoted a price on the internet from a travel service, the hotel may use their own rates for money conversin which may not be the rate you expected (it happened to us). Overall, a good experience and we will return.

stay elsewhere
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/22/05
for the price, around $70 US, you can do much, much better elsewhere. the rooms at the holiday inn silom are like an average motel room in the united states. totally unremarkable. the bathrooms are an embarrassment. the staff are also not impressive. if you must stay on silom see if the sofitel has vacancies.

Good hotel, bad location
By Flyer, 10/19/05
Stayed several times between 2003 and 2005 in this hotel. Don't book the cheap rooms in the 'Plaza' tower, they are worthless. Instead go for the superior room in the Crowne Tower, a little more expensive but great value. The buffet restaurant 'Windows on Silom' is good value both for breakfast and dinner with themed evenings to look for. Get an all in rate for your room including breakfast or they will rip you off with the breakfast charges. Hotel service is good and efficient. The other 3 restaurants in the hotel, besides the buffet restaurant, are too expensive for what they offer, especially the Thai restaurant. Instead go to a good Thai in town (e.g. Lemon Grass). I find the hotel too expensive for its very poor location. Except a good department store close by, you have to walk long distances to the sky train station or depend on taxi all the time. The hotel is often quite crowded with Asian tour groups. The Holiday Inn at the World Trade Centre is a better choice in my opinion. There is also a new Holiday Inn goin to open (2006 ? ) on Sukhumvit, close to the Emporium Shopping Centre.

Great for the money, come!
By Amy, 6/7/05
I felt like a queen during my stay in Bangkok. There was one incident where they couldn't figure out how to fix our plumbing,so they moved us into a different room. Breakfast that was included was amazing and men at the front desk were as helpful as could be. I also enjoyed the tea in the lounge. Much better than Novitel in Chang Mai!
