Surprisingly nice!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/24/09
The place is delightful. We stay here during business travels. They have continually renovated. I like the room decor. The restaurant is a secret in the suburbs. Fabulous menu at very reasonable prices. Giant pool for all the kids, too.

We won't be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/08
My husband and I usually stay at Hampton Inn when we travel, but this hotel was across the street from a meeting my husband had to attend. This was our first stay at a Holiday Inn and we've decided to never stay at a Holiday Inn again. The entire room, including the bathroom, was tiny. They may as well have just put in a shower because the tub was too small to bathe in. While taking my shower the water kept going from scalding to cold to no water at all. Running the air conditioner constantly (which was the only means of ventilation/circulation) did nothing to get rid of the moldy smell or the stuffy and cramped feel. When I opened the drawers to put our clothes in, the smell of mold was so overwhelming that we decided to keep our clothes in our bags. There was only one elevator running and we waited over 7 minutes for the elevator (I started timing after I actually realized it was taking an unbelievable time to begin with). We would have taken the stairs but we were on the 6th floor and we still had our bags. I asked for 2 extra pillows but 2-hours later none ever came so I went to the front desk to get them. I was treated rudely as if I was putting them out and was told that I'd have to wait for housekeeping to deliver them (which they did 45 minutes later). There was a wedding at the facility that night so the only way I got a parking space was when someone else pulled out of their spot on my 4th trip around the lot. People were actually parking in the grass behind the car dealership next door. Value-wise we paid $20 more for our pint-sized room than if we would have stayed at our usual Hampton Inn whose rooms are twice the size with breakfast thrown in to boot!! And no, I don't work for Hampton Inn.

Great pool area/fast to train station
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/25/08
I stayed here one night before leaving Chicago. The location is only 5 minutes to a train station, so getting into Chicago was easy. The room was clean, the room service excellent. The pool/games area was amazing - a huge pool, a kid's pool (great idea) and a very large jacuzzi/whirlpool, as well as an upper deck with games like pool and foosball. The shuttle service to Midway is free and should take you only about 20 minutes, depending on traffic. (We did have unusual traffic, but the driver got me there on time)

My favorite
By Jean, 10/23/07
We travel to the Chicago area a lot for our child's medical care. This is our favorite hotel to stay there. It is clean, nice, and worth the price.

Good service good hotel
Staff was very helpful letting me check in early and lining up taxi's to get around. The shuttle showed up right on time at the airport. Pool area is nice. Rare that you see a pool that big and deep at a hotel. Food and drink was good and fairly priced. I would stay there again without hesitation.

A little up keep is all it needs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/06
My family and I like to visit this hotel at least once a year. However, our last visit over the weekend was pretty disappointing. My kids were looking forward to playing the games by the poolside. Four of the six games were "out of order" as well as the change machine and two beverage machines. We stayed on the 5th floor and the only ice machine that worked was on the 2nd floor. Please don't let this place go down hill!

I spent several days there.
The overall appearence of the room was poor the ceiling was cracked and just required general upkeep! But once you get past that and the fact that the workout room was basically a few treadmills and stationary bikes where half of the machines were broken and the pool had an extra stench of chlorine but the water was a comfortable temperature and soothing. The food and service at the William Tell Restaurant and the side bar was excellent, fairly priced and convienently open. The overall service from the staff was excellent and the shuttle service was second to none. I would stay there again!

A Great Local Getaway
When my husband and I just want to get away for a mini vacation we enjoy going here. The hotel has everything a workout room, whirlpools, an indoor pool, a great romantic restaurant (The William Tell Restaurant). Also for the woman's pleasure there are a few stores to shop at and theatres to catch a movie at. We go there at least once or twice a year.
