A brief analysis

I would encourage visitors to Cleveland to stop at a motel in Gainesville or some other nearby town. This motel is not bad, but it's definitely not good. We paid $59 for the night. I would have been upset if I had paid $75 or more for the night. My dad had reserved a room a week earlier at the price of $50 per night, but when he got there the woman told him the first night would be $89, the second night $64. He ended up getting it for the original quote of $50, but $89 a night would be a great rip-off. The mattresses should have been replaced two years ago. All of the electrical plugs are loose fits and need to be replaced. Water puddled up in a corner of the bathroom because the floor slants, and the water didn't come from us taking a shower. The water was already there when we arrived. The shower head only worked at half the volume it should have because it needs to be cleaned to remove deposits that have accumulated over time. The little ironing board is a joke and the iron isn't much better. As another reviewer mentioned, the front office reeks of curry. No slam against the diets of Indians, but for your average American it isn't a pleasant odor. All in all, you get what you pay for. Pay $50 at the Days Inn Cleveland and you will enjoy a substandard room. For a lot of people, that is all they want. But for others who enjoy the real nice motel rooms that only cost between $75 to $85 a night, this place will be a real disappointment. One positive: the air conditioner worked fine. I would think that the corporate headquarters of Days Inn would be embarrassed if they were to make an inspection of this motel. However, all it would take to bring this motel up to par would be an investment of money for new mattresses, electrical plugs, bathroom remodeling, etc. But, apparently, the owners aren't interested in improving the subpar conditions. To make money, though, you have to spend money. If I owned this place I would be investing money wisely to insure that visitors liked what they saw and told others of their wonderful experience. All I can say is that I will never stay here again when I return to visit family in Cleveland. I will wisely stop at a reputable chain on 515 near Gainesville.
