Best jewel box hotel in the heart of Rome!

We first stayed in this hotel about six or seven years ago, and we chose it because of its location (it's literally adjacent to the Pantheon) and because I had seen the hotel on previous trips. I thought it looked nice and clean, and the location was the perfect launching point in Rome for any kind of day trip. I'm also obsessed with the Pantheon (and architecture in general), so I love to start every morning by popping in to the ancient temple before I start my daily journeys.
We were more than pleasantly surprised. In fact, we got a top-floor room, in the center. Large French doors opened up over the piazza and the Pantheon, and although small, the room and bathroom felt very luxurious. In fact, we discovered one of the hidden gems of Rome -- the roof-top bar of the hotel. A perfect place to sip champagne and watch the sun set over the city. You're a very short distance away from the Piazza Navona, Giolitti's gelatateria, the forum, the Tiber, and a short hop to Trastevere. Everything in the historic heart of Rome is walking distance. Very hearty breakfasts, too. We've sent many friends here over the years and returned three more times. It's always a pleasure and we're treated like old friends. I LOVE the Albergo del Senato!
