La Quinta Inn & Suites Savannah Southside, Savannah

We were disappointed due to many reasons- 1-We found a pair of shoes in our room belonging to a previous guest when we checked in. 2-The rooms and hallways smell strongly of some type of industrial cleaner that has a strong perfume odor. It is very noticable every time you walk in the building and in your room. 3-The hotel used to be a Baymont and is need of a major renovation. Carpets, furniture and bedspreads look very dated. Olive green and yellow. 4-The breakfast for several mornings had items that were out. Coffee needed refilling, etc. 5-We asked for extra pillows and were told they did not have any. The bright spots were that the bathroom was very clean, the staff was courteous, and wireless internet was included with the room.

Hotel was clean, close to the Historic District...and most of all, affordable. We stayed for New Years Eve and had a great time. I would recommend that anyone doing to the historic district for New Years or St. Pats call a cab early or expect to be waiting quite a while

We reserved this room through Priceline and have always had a good experience. The Baymont Savannah was an exception. We had called and requested a non-smoking room, but the room we received had such a strong cigarette smell we had to request another room. We were told there were no other rooms and when you reserve on Priceline you take what you get. We suffered through 2 nights of cigarette stink. Bad service, rude employees. Will never stay at a Baymont Inn again.
