Diappointed
By donna T, 04/05/09
Great location if it is sunny and warm. Bad if it rains. Lots of noise. Valet parked our Benz outside under trees took three hours to remove pitch. Shower broken. Old hotel in need of renovations. Had 4 people across the hall from us in a double room. No cable TV on Saturday night. $27.00 breakfast buffet that was worth about $15.00. Been to other Ritz properties that were great like Boston, but this one for $650 per night, I could have done better with a Marriot at half the price.

Loved Everything
By jennifer, 03/01/09
Rooms were beautiful, spacious. Staff was very attentive. Location is quiet and restful. Would highly recommend taking your family. The Spa was enjoyable along with the sunset portraits provided by a wonderful master photographer on location. Local immenities were just as captivating. Will return next year.

Would definitely bring family back.

I was there in January, so it was nice and peaceful....quiet. Maybe in the summer it's more bustling. Either way you would enjoy this hotel, ALL of the staff are so accommodating. This is a beautiful hotel, right on a great beach. Can't go wrong with lover's or kids weekend!

Club Level
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/07
Great experience! Stayed on 8th floor, club, Ocean view. Take the hay ride, visit the pool and the dancing is great also. We did not eat in the 5 star restraunt, but the food in the club level was wonderful.

Incredible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/08/07
My wife and I spent 4 nights in an oceanfront club level room over the 06 Thangsgiving holiday weekend. We brought along our 15 year old daughter and 22 year old son. The room was oversized-but worth the money as well as the upcharge for club level. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony, nightly beach bonfires and movies were all memorable moments. The Thansgiving dinner was delicious (expensive) but worth the experience. One drawback was it seems some of the club level food offerings were leftovers from the Holiday meal offerings. The indoor pool was closed for remodeling, other than that the entire family had a great time exploring the resort, relaxing and enjoying the food and drink offerings from the club level lounge. The trolley ride to AQmelia is not worth the price charged-betterto tip the valet and take your own vehicle.

Five-Star Resort
By Mike Shakes, 12/21/06
Since I live down the road from the Ritz, I've not stayed there, but have been there while my brother stayed there while visiting. The food is magnificent, service exemplary, and the beach is pristine.

Marriott with a view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/06
I just got back from the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island. I can say that I have been at Marriott hotels and have the same service but a bigger, more updated room and it costs half what this did. It was a great weekend due to the location of the hotel and the weather. There were a few conferences going on so the hotel was busy. The hotel front desk seemed to need to "shuffle some rooms", which took a long time. I don't know about reservations at the Ritz, so I can't comment, but it seems that the rooms should/could be decided before check-in... Andy the valet was great. Bob the bell hop/surfer was terrific. The woman hostess in the cafe really needs to lighten up and smile. Everything will be fine and you will enjoy yourself if you expect 4 star, not 5. I don't want to diss the Marriott hotels, because they are great, but they don't cost what the Ritz Carlton does.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/06
My husband and I, along with our two children, stayed here recently and had a great experience. The island is a nice place to get away and have a peaceful vacation. The service was polite and very helpful, and the food was delicious. My best experience was with the kids program. While my husband and I played golf, our kids attended Ritz Kids. The entire staff was wonderful, especially Lauren. She was super! Our daughter could not stop talking about her and wanted to go back the next day to find more sharks teeth! My husband and I really enjoyed our time together knowing our children were happy and having a great time too! Thanks, Lauren! We will definitely return! SOON!!!
