Disappointing

My husband, daughter and I stayed overnight here to be close to the Biltmore. Upon our arrival, we paid cash for our room and were asked to leave a $50 deposit, which we put on our credit card. We went to our room and at first glance, we were happy with it. The room was hot, so I turned on the air, then we left to go downtown. On our way back to the hotel, we picked up some food and ate it at the counter in the room. Then, we proceeded to take baths. The room had a jacuzzi which looked good, but half the jets didn't work. Then, we went to bed. The next morning, the floor was all wet in front of the air conditioner. As we were going to breakfast, we stopped by the desk to tell them that the front of the air conditioner looked like it was broke and the water was leaking. Well, they had to decide if WE did it before they would give our deposit back. The maintanence men went in there and so did housekeeping and they all said we did something to it. In the meantime, my husband and I are trying to tell them it was already like that. They said if we didn't do it, we should have noticed it broken when we got in our room. What kind of bull.... is that. Finally, the manager went to the room and said just give them their depost back. In the end, it wasn't even about the stupid $50. It was the principle of the thing. We will never stay here again. This place is a joke. For people thinking of staying here: check your room thoroughly when you first get in it and call the desk if you see anything broken. Otherwise, they'll think you did it.
