10 reviews for Holiday Inn JFK Airport, Jamaica
The service of this hotel is a shame!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/07/10
My mom was given a room with broken window at a 20 degree night. She turned on the heater at 90 degree but was still very cold. She called front desk but told they could do nothing. She asked for a blanket which was never delivered to her room. She woke up once every hour because of the cold. They treated a senior like a crap.

HORRIBLE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/09
First of all, the pool was not open - "It hasn't been open for a year". Secondly, the room's air conditioner didn't work. The VERY RUDE lady at the desk told us that she would send someone up right away. About three hours later we called again and the lady informed us that since we booked the room through Expedia, they couldn't (wouldn't?) fix the air conditioner!!! Can someone please explain how the two of them are connected? She did not offer us another room ("sold out"). Absolutely horrible. The shuttle to the airport looked and sounded like it was about to fall apart and the driver was very rude and drove it "like he stole it". Luggage was falling all over the place as he was driving like a maniac. Absolutely horrible experience!! For the price - get to the airport early and leave the car at the long term lot. A heck of a lot easier and nicer than staying at this dump!!

Used Condom found After Checking into hotel room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/09
Upon check-in, I found a used condom on my room floor. When I notified the front office, there were very rude! They stated they would change our rooms and did not do so in a timely fashion.

Beware-It's Scary! You could be stranded!
By JAMES, 03/30/09
We arrived Thursday at midnight after an 8 hour flight from London. You are required to take a train to a remote location away from the airport where all shuttle busses pick up arriving passengers. It was a cold, rainy night. We called the hotel immediately after clearing customs...and the line was not picked up for over a half an hour! We arrived at the Federal Circle transfer station and had waited for 40 minutes...all the time watching all the other hotel shuttles make numerous pick ups a piece. We waited another half hour for the hotel to answer their phone and were snapped at by the person who answered the phone. The shuttle never came....and there is absolutely no other transpostation to get there. We eventually stayed at another hotel...but they had left several guests (who arrived from various countries and spoke little English) stranded in a scary place, alone, in the rain.. Attempts to report this situation to the hotel were greeted by a nasty staff...and when I finally reached the General manager the next day his attitude was that at least we were not going to be charged for the reservation. This hotel should lose its flag...or if the chain chooses to let them keep it...it is truly a reflection that they have no quality control and could care less! I cannot emphasize enough the absolute disregard for your safety that this hotel demonstrates!

Good staff, yet unclean.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/07
I have stayed here every weekday for over a month. Although most of the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are unclean. The sheets are clean, yet the bed cover underneath is usually stained and dirty. The carpets are not vacuumed well, and the bathroom floors are not swept, let alone mopped. The upside, if you are to stay here, the hotel is minutes from the airport and off a main highway, so it is easy to get to and leave from. The restaurant anad bar are fairly good, but breakfast is obscenely expensive.

What a dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/06
We were booked into this dump by an airline after a flight delay at JFK. The reception was dirty, the furniture in reception is disgusting armrest completely worn through. The room we stayed in on the second floor was grubby and smelly. There was duck tape on the doors which did not close properly and the dirty stained wall paper complimented the furnishings perfectly. TV did not work etc ect. The staff was unhelpful and surly. They do have free WiFi internet, yippee. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

Best One In Queens Yet!
By jaymie k, 06/07/05
We travel to Queens about four time a year and have always stayed near JFK because our family lives so close and out of at least 6 hotels along the Belt Parkway that we have stayed in this one was really nice. It was clean, the staff was friendly, plenty of pillows, room service was fast, the pool and staff in the pool was great and very clean in there as well, whenever I called the front desk, they were right there and took care of us. The strikers was no problem, just a little noisy but once inside, we couldn't hear them and best of all, the parking was on the hotel property so I did not have to pay like I had to at a few of the other hotels and I didn't have to park in the street and fear that someone would bother my minivan with out of state tags. Plenty of shuttles to the airport and right next to the parkway which made getting on the road to come home even easier. this is were we will stay from now on when we travel to queens.

Great Experience
By CHAZZ W, 05/11/05
I love this place because it's excellent. You can come here to relax, spend time with your partner basically you can come here to get away. If you're new in town you'll love it. If you're not new you'll still love it. I love how at night the lights of the town makes it so beautiful and romantic outside. It's a great way to have a candle lit dinner

Excellent for an airport hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/04/05
We needed a hotel in order to make an early morning flight out of JFK and chose this one based on other positive reviews we had read online. We were not dissapointed! In a nutshell, the rooms were comfortable and clean (as was the rest of the hotel) and the service was excellent. When we arrived at the front desk we asked for a roll-away bed. A friendly bellman met us with the bed at the room and went out of his way to see that we received extra towels, pillows and other goodies (shampoo, mouthwash, etc.). The restaurant was conveniently located on premises and was open reasonably late. Although we waited a while to get served (we arrived at an odd hour), once service started we found the staff quite attentive. The menu was reasonable for hotel faire and everyone (including our children) was able to find something to their liking. While this hotel would not be my top choice for a resort in which to take an extended vacation, it was very nice as airport hotels go and my four stars are based on comparisons with other airport hotels. The service was friendly from check-in to check-out. If we ever need to stay overnight near JFK again this surely is the place we will go.
