Look elsewhere

When I checked in and they asked me if I wanted a wake-up call, I thought they were just being courteous. No, it was foreshadowing of the fact that there are no clocks or radios in the rooms. My room was tiny, and this with the whitewashed concrete-brick walls made it feel like a dormitory. I had no cold water(!), and got no sympathy from the staff about any of these problems. All of this would be acceptable in a motel that cost about half as much, but the prices (and deceptively nice-looking lobby) led me to expect at least a two-star experience.
