Boy do I have some stories here
I had travel to this are couple times a month for a bout six months or so.
I am a Marriott Rewards member and have been exclusive to Marriott brand for several years.
One thing Ive noted about Courtyards is they are advertised as being a place for business travelers, boasting a very professional atmosphere.
The first few times I went there, I was presented with a waiver that basically acknowledges that this is a hotel for business travelers, agreeing to keep quiet as there might be people in the hotel trying to work, no partying, etc, etc.
Around the third or forth time, I checked in and no waiver. Hmm, odd, but didnt think too much of it.
That evening, I went to the pool and there were about fifteen kids around ten to twelve years old HAVING A BIRTHDAY PARTY!
They were screaming, running around, jumping and splashing in and out of the hot tub.
Take my word for it, it is imposable to relax in a hot tub when you have fifteen kids screaming Marco polo and one kid doing a cannonball into the hot tub landing about two feet in front of you.
Other than the party, there was a father and daughter and an older couple, all equally annoyed.
At one point, one of the adults running the party tried to order the older couple out of the pool so she could line the kids up for a relay race.
The man of that couple went to the phone and complained to the front desk, but I dont think he got much of a response.
The next time, the local Naval base had a basic training graduation and the hotel was loaded with families and recant graduates.
Again, tons of noise and partying in the halls and pool area, breakfast was also a mad house the next mourning.
The next time, they went back to having the waiver at check in.
Now I dont know this for a fact, but if they purposely did not have the waiver on days the knew there was going to be a birthday party or Navy graduation, they need to make up their minds. They cant have it both ways.
One thing that Marriott boast is consistency. You cant say this a professional hotel, be quiet one week and then have a party going on the next.
The funniest part, I filled out the comment card with a lengthy description of what went on in the pool the night of the birthday party.
About a month later, I happened to get put back in the same room, and there it was on the night stand. No one even picked it up.
Also, the maids are way to anxious to get you out the next mourning.
Several times, Ive had the maid walk in on me before Ive checked out.
Once, I went to put my suitcase in my car, and when I got back to my room she was already in there starting to clean things out, even though my purse was sitting on the desk , my coast was draped on the chair, and I had left the do not disturb sign on the door.
Though I will give credit where it is due. On the non party nights I was there, it was very nice and peaceful. and the woman who worked breakfast in the mourning recognized me after the third time or so and was very nice and always said it was good to see me again.
