disappointing
By Matthew, 02/02/09
I loved the central location and was excited about going to Scottsdale for all it has to offer but almost had that ruined due to the front desk staff. They were some of the rudest people and unkempt. Rachel in the morning was impatient and SMELLED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE which is highly unprofessional for a smoke-free hotel. Then when I called from the airport for direction Tim gave me wrong directions which added twenty minutes to my drive and very unapologetic upon arrival. The front desk manager was never available nor the general manager, whom I met briefly, couldn't get over her phony sincerity. I had visited before the remodel and enjoyed the front desk staff but something is COMPLETELY lacking with the staff. They certainly don't look the part let alone act it. You WILL encounter internet issues at this hotel. I do have to mention that melanie was helpful and that the housekeeping did a great job!

Love to Stay Here
By Heather V, 01/02/08
I really enjoyed my stay here. I travel for business and have stayed in multiple locations in Scottsdale and I love the Marriot it makes me feel like home. The seperate Living Room are from the Bedroom helps on long stays so you don't feel confied to the bed. The Staff is extreamly Kind and caring. They really want your stay to be enjoyable. I would Highly recommend it.

Suites are great
By M, 10/13/06
We love to stay here, especially when you want somewhere close to the clubs. The suites are spacious, beds are devine, bathrooms leave plenty of room for you to get ready to hit the town. And the room service is VERY good.

Very disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/06
We read the reviews of this hotel and decided to stay there based on the reviews. It was so disappointing! We stayed in a king suite. The furniture was unattractive and outdated; the bed was uncomfortable; the bathtub and shower were inadequately furnished, and the bathtub was missing the drain cap. We had stayed at the Wyndam Buttes last year, and that was luxurious. This Marriott is NOT luxuruious and it should be ranked 2 stars.

Great Hotel Close to Everything in Scottsdale
By BigVince, 12/29/05
This was a great hotel - with very clean and comfortable rooms, but the best thing is it's location. It is within walking distance of the Scottsdale shops and restaurants.

well worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/05
This hotel was priced a little bit higher than most hotels in the area so my wife and I were a little iffy about staying here but it ended up being more than worth it. For the luxury and opulence of the hotel suites the price ended up seeming quite low. An especially large advantage was the full size suites with a separate kitchen. This ended up saving us a lot of money because only had to go out to dinner one night. Beautiful hotel and well worth the cost.

So luxurious
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/05
What a gorgeous hotel! My fiancé and I stayed here for a summer vacation and I was constantly blown away by its luxury, especially the marble bathrooms. My fiancé spent most mornings playing golf, on what he said were some of the best courses he's played on. I'm not much of a golfer so I decided to use my mornings to enjoy the spa. I had a massage, and facial, both of which were delightful. At night we walked to old Scottsdale and enjoyed the romance of this city. It was a wonderful vacation and a perfect place to stay.

guest rooms make you never want to leave room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/12/05
These guest rooms at the Marriott Scottsdale Old Town are great because they provide you with a living room, bedroom and -let me tell you- an oversized beautiful marble bath. I didn't even want to leave the comfort of my own guest room but since Old Town Scottsdale is said to be so beautiful I decided to venture out of my beautiful room and see what the talk was all about. Sure enough, the town was fascinating. I really enjoyed walking around the town looking at all the little shops and what they had to offer. At the end of the day I returned to the hotel to enjoy some good old American cuisine in the hotel restaurant and then relaxed in the whirlpool.

Beautiful hotel and so is Old Town!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/05
I was visiting a friend at ASU so I stayed here because of its close proximity. Not only is Old Town Scottsdale beautiful but so is this hotel. An added bonus about this hotel was being able to walk from my room into the lobby where Starbucks was located, how convenient! The city takes your breath away with the natural beauty it gives off and the hotel embarks on this beauty with its old fashioned art work yet elegant appeal. Staying at the hotel for just a few days really left an impression of the town's beauty and friendly atmosphere.

perfect hotel stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/05
This hotel was great for hosting a group of business associates. I attended a few meetings here while also staying at the hotel and it was so nice to have a meeting in the conference center, then take a break and relax in the lounge or grab a bite to eat in the restaurant. Then I was able to walk up to my room at the end of the day. It was so convenient for me to be able to have everything so close.
