Holiday Inn Express East Ridge, Chattanooga

The front desk staff was unsure how to accept CASH for payment-really? Then even though I had paid cash upon check-in, my debit card was still charged the full price of the room. The room was DIRTY-so dirty that our white socks were filthy within minutes of walking on the floor. The room smelled strongly of smoke. The phone in the room did not work, there is no fan in the bathroom and the beds are terrible! When we asked for toilet paper as the bathroom downstairs in the lobby had none, the housekeeping staff actually pushed and shoved each other until one of them finally got a roll and then just handed it to us. The dining area was dirty as well. I would avoid staying at this hotel if at all possible.

We stay at a lot of Holiday Inns, Over 20 a year. This one seemed outdated, Im used to gold and yellow walls, the blue was ok, just didnt seem Holiday Inn style. The room and bathroom were very very clean. I liked when we walked into the room the air was on and it was cool. The front desk didnt acknowledge my husband as a priority member , but did call to see how our room was, which was a great touch. I was very upset we had NO internet connection, and bothered with the $2.95 a day charge for secure internet ... false advertising i think, tho i did see people at the free breakfast on lap tops. The breakfast was ok. need to have directions on pancake machine in easy site. The pictures are misleading . the pool is small. wish they would just say , this is what we are, lying makes bad business

My family has stayed at this hotel twice in the past year. We stayed in a suite with three small children. The hotel is very nice, clean and the rooms are spacious. The hotel staff is very helpful. The price of the room is very reasonable.

We arrived after a six hour drive on our way to Dollywood. Chattanooga hotel prices were to high. So we got a room here. So glad we did. Walked in to a very friendly staff, also very helpful with directions to anywhere we needed on our 4-day stay. The free warm chocolate chip cookies didn't hurt either at the check-in desk. The room was very nice, comfy, and clean. The indoor heated pool was a nice touch after a long day of vacation time. Met several other Moms at the pool on vacation. We got to share coupons for places to visit. The best part is the breakfast with so many wonderful things to choose from. "Yummy" The only minus is if you have a couple days stay. You have to ask for your bed sheets to be changed. Otherwise they just make up the beds. But another plus you must try is Hungry Howies. They are just down the street and deliver. Great food and good prices. You won't be sorry if you stay here. We will return here on our next trip to Tenn. Oh ya we still got to go to Chattanooga it was a very short drive to the Aquarium. Note: a few places we tried and loved while we were there also were The Ducks Boat Ride. The Murder Mystery Cafe. These three places I would go to again every visit. And my stay would be at this hotel. I fell in LOVE with Tenn. One warning if you go to Dollywood Splash Park trust me. USE SUNTAN LOATION. "Ouch"

The room was very clean and, even thought we were right by the elevator, very quiet. Minor glitches: one of the flourescent elements in a bathroom light was flickering and driving me nuts. When I went to the desk to get a replacement, the night clerk gave me some bs about needing a special tool and could only call maintenance in the morning. I just went back up and used the "special tool" of my fingertips to remove the shade and pull the element out; just left it on the sink counter. The pool had a little too much chlorine and the door to the pool are does not lock (parents of small children BEWARE). The breakfast was pretty good and very good service by the lady who was policing the area (wiping tables, resupplying, etc.). There are quite a few fast food and good food restaurants in walking distance and the hotel is very close to I-75. Overall, very nice stay.

We arrived a day early, but they were able to accommodate us with a room. Since we reserved a different type room, we had to check out the next morning and back in that afternoon, but everything went smoothly. We found that out there was a Cheerleading Competition and the motel was overrun with Cheerleaders. The only issue we had was that the first 3 mornings there wasn't any hot water, due to a problem with the equipment and a part had to be ordered. I am sure that a lot had to do with all those girls getting up early using the hot water, but we found that there was plenty of hot water in the evening, so it wasn't too much inconvenience. Both rooms were really nice, but we especially liked the King Bed Suite. The next time we are in Chattanooga we will most likely stay at the same motel.

Check in was easy. The room was neat and clean. Staff very friendly. The continental breakfast was one of the best I have seen. I was really impressed with the host in charge of the breakfast--don't know her name but she was very friendly and helpful--seemed to go out of her way to be helpful. There was also a wide variety of food.

On our way to disney, we stopped at the HI Express looking forward to the indoor pool and staying in a suite. The room was tidy when we came in, but the sheets were dirty, when I pulled out the sofa sleeper sheet there was a poop stain on it; the front desk braught up a flat sheet not a fitted sheet to replace it which was also dirty and smelly; the microwave looked like it wasn't cleaned in a month, the suite was a small room with a 1/8 wall divider, very small room for $90. There was 1 fast food near by and one sit-down restaurant which were extremely packed. One restaurant in the area delivered (pizza). The beds were horrible. I had extreme back pain for days after sleeping on their beds. Not a good experience and will not go back.

My husband stays here often. However, the family visited this past time. The staff was wonderful. They are very friendly and helpful. No matter what the need, they are there to help. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The rooms, lobby and breakfast are always clean. The breakfast is a great deal. If you have not stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, you need to. Their new shower heads, shower curtains, towels and toiletrie products are top notch.

My family and I stopped there to crash for the night during a 26 hour drive from Madison, WI to Naples, FL and we loved it. The service was professional and friendly, the continental breakfast was fabulous, the beds were soooo comfortable and you gotta love those new huge shower heads! I'd definitely stay again if I ever went back to the area!
