Deep in the heart of Louisiana sits the historic Bailey Hotel, where turn-of-the-century style and Cajun hospitality come together. Located in Bunkie, The Bailey Hotel, built in 1907, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the Department of the Interior in August of 1999. The Renovation is finally complete after 3 years. Experience antique furnishings, fine Cajun dining, modern comfort and true southern charm centrally located at the Crossroads of Louisiana. Make your visit to Louisiana truly an experience as the Grand Dame has awakened and is the Belle of the Ball. We invite you to stay with us on your next visit to New Orleans and the unique state that is called Louisiana. From it's beginning in 1907, The Bailey Hotel has been the center of community activity. Domino tournaments and bridge games have drawn their share of willing contestants casually sipping their coffee or tea, and who can not wonder if the occasional -mint julip- passed those willing lips. Now, with the complete remodeling of the hotel, the past can be revisited. Old friendships can be reunited, and new acquaintances can be sparked with the flint of the past and the desire to return to those -good ole days-. The Management and Staff of the Bailey wish to invite all to celebrate the reconstruction of not only wood and stone, but of days long since past. Central Louisiana is one of the most easy-going places in the world, especially Avoyelles Parish. The local people are hard-working and friendly, especially to strangers. Our unique outlook on life makes all our guests feel welcome and gives those the feeling of being -at-home-.

Beautiful Hotel
By John, 08/17/09
The proprietors took care of our every need and took personal care if needed. Although the restaurant was closed for the summer, the staff had breakfast for us and the whole staff.

A WOW in the romance department
By kathym, 01/18/07
I loved everything about this place. The outside of the building is just the typical brick building but the lobby and rooms are knock your socks off beautiful. The wooden stair case and chandliers are breathtaking. The Staircase area in the lobby would make a gorgeous place to have a wedding. The room i stayed in was the economy room for $59.00 but there was no expense sparred in the decoration of this small quaint room. It was small in space wise but big in enbiance and romance. The bed was so comfortable and cozy like something you crawl into for a day of relaxing on a lady's day of pampering!! The resturant is very dimly lit with candles and flowers on every table. Guys great place to take your suggnificant other.

Nice, friendly place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/06
I stay here often. Nice, clean rooms and friendly people. In the evenings, hang out at their bar, Zanga's, and listen to a live band. Once, I misplaced a bag with equipment in it worth about $300. It was found by a bartender and promptly returned to me.

Romantic Getaway; Yeah right!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/06
When we arrived our room was 94 degrees, had dirty glasses, and had a dead cockroach on the bathroom floor. We turned on the air condition and it only cooled to 85 degrees in an hour. We had to leave for a few hours. When we returned there was a band playing so loudly that our floor vibrated and we felt like we were sitting inside the bar. This was at 11 pm. I called the front desk and asked them what time the band would stop playing. I was told that it would play until at least 1:30 am. They did not have another room available with a king size bed for us to change rooms. They didn't even offer to turn the music down. I laid awake listening to the loud band, breaking glass, and people arguing. I couldn't believed that I thought that this 100 year hotel was a romantic getaway for my husband and me. We left tired and annoyed. Every weekend they have live enertainment. Knowing this they still book rooms over the bar that are not sound proof! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Romantic Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/05
Very friendly and helpful service when we checked in. We were put in a room with a beautifully carved king size bed that was very comfortable and slept wonderfully. In the bathroom was a jacuzzi tub that was most appreciated and enjoyed by both. The ambiance of the room set the mood for a very romantic getaway!! We ate supper in the dining room. The service was very good and the food was acceptable. I would have to say there could be some improvements in the quality of the food served. There was good entertainment in the bar that night and a nice court yard with a pool full of coes and a nice place to sit and relax and visit. Looking forward to going back and maybe spending severals night this time!!
