ROOM WAS CLEAN, STAFF WAS FRIENDLY, BREAKFAST OK, POOL LOOKED CLEAN AND INVITING, PL ENTY OF PARKING

The AmericInn in Bear De is an understaffed poorly managed mess!! Our reservation had been canceled and no one could explain the reason. The room we were given was not the room we had reserved. The pool, which looked like it contained swamp water, and the whirlpool were closed for maintenance the three days we were there. The WiFi was unavailable and there was NEVER a manager on duty available with which to speak during our stay. We did not even get a receipt after spending almost $350.00 because the staff was incompetent and could not get their computer to function properly. On the 3rd morning, the trash can outside the front door was full of beer cans after several guys with a Rotweiler hung out there the prior evening and the back "security" door was propped open with a large rock. Anyone staying in the Wilmington vicinity has many options from which to choose and I would highly recommend staying somewhere else.

Housekeeping camped in my room while I was out, ate my food, didn't clean, matter of fact trash I had put by their cart was brought back in room, I tipped after first night, big mistake, took full advantage of my room, soured me on communicating with housekeeping ever again, manage was oh well, we won't charge you for one night, big whoop what about food I had to leave behind, tip i paid out, what a joke.

Excellent variety of breakfast items - waffles, muffins, cereals, eggs, bacon, good coffee! Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location is great - right on Routes 40 and 1. A good value for the price paid. Would definitely return.

We especially liked the pool and Jaccuzzi. They are opened till 10 for kids and 12 for adults. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was well stocked and probably the best complimentary continental breakfast I have ever had. We really enjoyed the weekend.
