We'll be back....
By Booboo, 03/04/09
Lots of fun. Waterpark is great for families, especailly those with pre-teens and under. Kids over 12 will probably get board after a couple of hours. Only two big waterslides, though, one is pretty intense. Rooms were nice. They were not ornate, just builder grade material, but everything was clean and woked just fine. We just used the room for eating and sleeping. Picked up some pizza and wings at the restaurant. Not bad, and not as expensive as I though it would be. A large pizza and 10 wings set me back about $24 dollars. I will agree that it seemed most of the employees you see look like they are college, perhaps even high school aged. I was amazed at the service. These are not your typical kids working part time. Very attentive, and I was asked how my stay was going several times over the two days we were there. We were supposed to get 4 free tokens for the arcade at check-in but did not. Stopped by the front desk later to tell them and see if we could get them and the girl offered her apologies for not providing them at check in and then proceeded to hand us 5 packs of tokes, (4 in each pack). Lifeguards, are all business. You can feel safe taking your eye off your kids for a few minutes. They should just drop the resort fee and just add it to the room cost. If it is not negotiable, why call it out??? Still it was a great value. With fees and tax $150 got us 1 night stay and 4 waterpark admisions for 2 days.

Hungry Moose Food Court - YUK
By Patty N, 02/19/08
Very roomy suites. Great if you have small kids and/or want to cook meals in the room. Nice private bedroom for the adults. One bad thing was the The Hungry Moose Food Court. Absolutely awful and very expensive. Don't buy the breakfast package -you will regret it.

Not awful but look elsewhere
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/08
Over the years I have been to many Marcus properties and have been a satisfied patron of their hotels, golf courses, restaurants and, of course, theaters. I have always found value and quality in the Marcus name. In fact, I look for it when I am making my buying decisions. It was with the same level of expectation that my family and I decided among all of the other properties to spend the weekend at Timber Ridge. However, I was struck again and again at how the service and quality that I had come to expect at other Marcus properties fell way short at Timber Ridge. Specifically, I could not help but notice how dirty the hallway floors were. Wrappers were strewn about and corners of the elevator had not been vacuumed in some time. In addition, there were noticeable holes in walls, the result of wear and tear that went unrepaired. In some places there was recent plaster work but no paint. Walks were not shoveled, pool towels appeared old and shabby, the dish washer in our room was not emptied prior to our arrival, lobby garbage cans overflowed and staff, who normally are so cheerful and helpful in Marcus properties were less than pleasant. Nothing rose to the level of ruining our weekend, but I will not return, will encourage others not to go there and certainly hope that this is simply a one bad property among many stellar ones.

Beware of the bugs!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/08
I had stayed in this place back in 2002 and thought it was very nice that is why myself and three of my friends chose to go there and spend a girls weekend. what a mistake while I was in the shower I looked up and saw a huge dead bug in our light fixture when I brought this to the attention of the manager at the front desk Sara she aplogized but said it was normal because we were next to a field than she continued on by saying they had them in the fixtures above the check in I asked her if she ate slept and showered at the front desk she had no reply. The only thing they offered was to clean it we weren't compensatewd in any way!!! Stay away if you hate bugs!!!!

we had a great time!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/07
Our family of 4 went with 6 other families. We all had our own rooms and had soooo much fun. The water park was perfect for all of our children to have fun and be close enough for all of us to keep an eye on them. Four of our families ate at Smokey's together. Our waiter was great. He was very helpful and accomodating. The food was pretty good. We took the Trolley to the main lodge for the Country Christmas celebration. That was a total waste of time. I would NOT recommend seeing it. The Trolley was great for a large group and the driver was very friendly.

Will stay somewhere else next time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/07
We were very impressed with the large well furnished rooms but were dissappointed with the swimming and waterpark facilities. The one pool they had was small and there were tons of screaming children in it. The water park is very over hyped. There is not much to do in it if you are over 10 years-old. Also, within the first ten minutes we were there, I fell on a very slippery bridge in the waterpark. I cut my foot, ankel and leg pretty badly. This hotel is about a 10 minute drive to the lake, so the location is not very convienient. Next time we will stay at a cheaper hotel right by the lake. If you are looking for a hotel with a good waterpark and pool facility, don't go here. Wilderness in the dells offers much more for the value.

Simply Amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/07
Timber Ridge Resort is the best resort in the lake geneva area. I have been here with my family SEVEN TIMES. The rooms are great, the privit bedroom was great and the fully loaded kitchen was perfect. The kitchen had everything not only a micorwave and refriderator but a coffee pot, toaster, blender, dish washer, plates, bowls, silver wear, and a stove and oven. The resraunt has great food and is very spacious now that it has a new location (it is still in the hotel). The restraunt has such great food once when just spending the day in Lake Geneva we went to the resort just for dinner. The staff is very nice. And the lifegaurds are well trained. The new free family movie theature is great. The only bad thing is that the arcade games are alway broken, but most of the time the friendly staff will fix them for you. The trolly is great because you can go to Grand Geneva, just down the hotel's bullivard with prime restraunts, shops, ski, private lake (just for guests), golf, and health club.
