Terrible experience - all-night noise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/09
A party in the atrium was very loud and continued past midnight. When I complained I found out that they were going to do it again the next night, too. I cancelled the balance of my reservation. Don't make the same mistake I did. Avoid this inconsiderate location.

WAS a great deal for the location
By joe, 09/29/08
The location was really nice. We wanted to check out the city and we could get to anywhere within minutes. Room itself was nice. We did 'nt use room service But it seemed kind of high priced if we wanted to .27% gratuity is steep. If you are going to a football game , baseball or basketball game there. it is an awsome location. Pickwic and frolic was a really nice place to eat , drink and see a good comedy show. Many nice restaurants right out side your door. Staff was really, really nice. We booked off Hotwire and got a great weekend rate.

The walls are paper thin!
By Carmen, 04/17/07
The hotel was lovely and the rooms were quaint. However, there was a prom party in the Arcade the night we stayed. At 11:30 pm, we called the front desk and asked them to please tell the teenagers in the room next to us to turn down the very loud thumping music. We ended up talking to several staff members on several different occasions. Finally, well after midnight, we heard from the hotel manager. We ended up getting a free night, but could hardly sleep through the partying next door. The staff were all very nice and the room was clean. Keep in mind that in an old building, the walls are paper thin!

lots of potential, poor quality
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/11/07
the location is great.i travel often & was excited to stay at the arcade. however, the cleanliness of the room was awful. hair all over bathroom, long blond hair that was obvious- cleaning just didnt care much. hair embedded in blankets and spare linen (obviously long dark hairs -bagged in closets). severe mildew in bath tile. HARD mattresses, i would have thrown them away if at my home. i was on floor 4, double. i am not picky, i have stayed at 2 star motels that were very clean. if i wasnt stuck, purchased on priceline, and only paid 69.95/nte i would not have stayed. however, if properly cleaned this COULD BE an excellent stay. beautiful ambiance and location in interior common areas. staff is very courteous, not good cleaners...on the xtra cleaning for the second day the housekeeper brought new towels, with more long hair!!! blankets had cigarette burns!!! this hotel is ok for short stay, do not expect much, dont pay more than $70. oh, funny, they billed me for drinking the offered in room water. after showing them i didnt, they accidentally re charged my card 3 times trying to correct the original mistake.lol. they were BEYOND super nice apologizing for the errors. it has been resolved. oh, parking is $20/nte, valet lost my car twice... waited an hour each time... lol...good luck...

Very poor customer service..especially in the reservation area
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/07
I had stayed at the Hyatt in Nov. and had a reasonably pleasant experience so when I was planning on coming to Cleveland in January I made reservations at the Hyatt again..except my trip happened to coincide with the blizzard that closed several airports and I was afraid that the airport may be closed and didnt want to be stranded so i called the Hyatt to cancel and was told by 3 different rude people in reservations that it was too late and if I cancelled they would charge me the full room rate anyway..I had originally planned on staying at the Ritz Carlton where they said I could cancel my reservations without penalty up until the day of my arrival..obviously, I made a huge mistake going with the Hyatt..i ended up paying for a room I couldnt use and have definitely learned an expensive lesson...I will never stay at the Hyatt again.

This Is Where I would Go
By Lil Bit aka T, 09/23/06
I never had a stay at a hotel, but if I was to stay at one..I would pick this one..I have had people to say that it was nice in there and the people are friendly. My friend told me that would be where she would go when she comes back to Cleveland next year..That's good to know.I recommend this hotel due to her testimony.

Nice building, but rude staff
By Taras, 07/15/06
What a great location and facility -- too bad the staff (both check in and restaurant) had attitudes. Poor logistics and gruff personnel...it's a great, great building, but I have not encountered a less competent staff anywhere in memory....

The Hyatt Regency, a great experience
By strbuk, 06/30/05
If you are planning to stay in Downtown Cleveland look no further than the historic Hyatt at the Arcade. Each room was at one time a store or office that has been converted by Hyatt into interesting, huge, and comfortable rooms. You have to see the place to know how gorgeouis it is, bring your camera. There is shopping and a lounge on the first floor of the arcade, so take advantage and get to know the place. Our toom was 600 sq. feet, with two sitting areas, wi-fi access, two TVs. a king sized bed, lovely bathroom, and it cost us only $135.00 ( plus we got a free great breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor). It was the B&B special and if you can take advantage of that do so. You will not be sorry. Parking is convenient next door at a local indoor ramp. There was nothing to not like at the Hyatt.
