Great place for all ages
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/7/05
My husband and I were there in 03 and enjoyed ourselves so much, we took our kids, grandkids, and my mom back with us in 04. There is something for everybody to do all the time, even shopping in Puerta Vallarta. Don't want to pay $30 each way for a cab, take the bus. It's just like the good old days, cruising the back roads with friends. Just hang on! The staff are very helpful and remembered us the second year. We didn't get to go in 05 and really missed it. Can't wait until 06.

great trip, but far from the city
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/26/04
i enjoyed our three night stay at the viva vallarta. the staff was extrememy friendly and they showed us a great time in the city when they took us into town on a chartered bus to go club hopping. the food was great, but there were not a lot of singles to meet there. it was also a far drive into town and expensive each way. i wish i would have had a better idea about where the viva resort was located before we planned our trip, b/c we may have booked a hotel closer to the downtown area. i reccommend this resort to families and couples...

EXCELLENT FIRST CLASS RESORT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/26/04
First class resort. The food was excellent. The on site resturaunts were to die for. Make reservations early they seem to fill up fast. The pools offered a great place for kids to play and for the adults to slip away. The drinks were excellent if you are into mixed drinks. If you want a beer I suggest you walk across the street to the liquor store and pick up a 24-pack of corona. The staff there was ultra friendly and took care of every need. They were always eager to help. The only problem we had was how far awaythe resort was from central Puerto Vallarta. we are talking about a 40 minute cab ride @280 pesos. So an average of $30 per way. That was really our only gripe besides not being there long enough. I recommend this resort for the person who has kids, wants a little bit of seclusion when they need it, and wants fun and entertainment when they want it. They offer so many activities that there was not enough time to do everything. JUst so you know I have nothing to do with the resort. I am just writing this becuase it was an excellent time and I recommend this resort to every one.

Better than the best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/26/04
Last year we stayed at Viva and let me tell you, we LOVED it! The staff was so friendly and fun, the food was to die for and the nightly entertainment was so enjoyable. I`m one that leaves my children at home and even though you knew there were children around, they were so well behaved and taken care of you never knew they were around. The activities that are planned daily are for every age imaginable so nobody could say they were bored. We were there in January and you could watch the whales from the adult pool. SPECTACULAR! The resort is a bit of a drive from the airport, but the ride is well worth it. We have stayed in resorts closer to town, but I really, really enjoyed Viva. It was like having the beach to only your resort. I can`t wait to return this year!
