Courtyard by Marriott New York City JFK Airport, Jamaica

We stayed for an overnight layover in NYC, and our (brief) visit was very pleasant. I would definatly recommend this hotel for the traveler with only a layover in NY, of 24 hours or less. The location is a little out of the way so going to the city can be expensive and time consuming. The hotel operator was courteous and very helpful with the directions, and the pickup van was right on time, and when we arrived, we were welcomed by a very courteous staff at the front desk and our check in went very smooth. Maurice, the Concierge, was very helpful with his suggestions of the area, however, due to the limited time we had available, we were only able to take a short walk around the neighborhood. (Not a good idea at night !) Our room was very nice, big beds and CLEAN,CLEAN, CLEAN ! Our breakfast was a little pricey, $18 bucks, plus a tip, is a bit high (by my standards), but the food was fresh and the coffee was hot, so I'm not complaining. And the waitress was cheerful, so all in all, it was a very pleasant visit.

This hotel is on a strip of similar properties. The accommodation is good average. The price suggests far more. If arriving at JFK, drive for 30 minutes or so and you will halve costs. If you have no car, grin and bear it.

The hotel was very accomodating. I made the reservation for my sister who had just gotten married that afternoon, and was in her wedding gown when she checked into the hotel. The staff made sure that she and her husband had a very nice room, and were very helpful getting them to the airport the next morning as they went on their honeymoon. The room was lovely, and the service was excellent. Thank you.
