Extremely Convenient, but kinda pricey
By Nancy, 08/23/09
I stayed at the hotel for a Kenny Chesney concert and was excited about the location. The hotel is a short walk (approx. 5 blocks) from Ford Field, where the concert was held. Another "like" was the deluxe continental breakfast, which was included with the room rate. The reason I thought the place was a bit pricey was because I paid just a little over $150 for one night and the toilet and sink were slow to drain and the room was nothing fancy. For the price paid, I expected a little more than just a regular looking hotel room. The breakfast and location, though, made the shortcomings easier to overlook. There is also a great bar/restaurant attached to the hotel and the pasta is absolutely delicious. After the concert (around 11:15 pm), the restaurant was still open and it was extremely convenient to be able to grab a bite to eat.

Excellent value and comfortable!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/14/08
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Excellent location, 1 block from people mover and within walking distance of many downtown sites. Must use valet parking but that was ok with us. Loved the continental breakfast. Our beds were so comfy! They actually give you different softness of pillows! Very nice fitness room, decent business center though computers need to be upgraded. The pool was open and well kept. The one thing I could recommend them to improve upon is the elevators...many lights didn't work and they seemed to act a little whacky.

good rate, but was not too impressed
By youdontknowme113, 01/16/08
Likes: -Free cookies when you check in, yum! -Free access to a guest computer with internet access and printer -Yummy smelling shampoo & lotion -100% non-smoking -$99 per night "managers special" (you just have to ask) Dislikes: -No ramp to wheel luggage cart up, you have to try and pop the curb. -when I returned to my room after 11pm, the sliding "automatic" door wouldn't open to let me in, and their was no one in the lobby, I had to bang on the glass, then the guy asked if I was a guest with a room in the hotel(rude!) -No microwave or mini fridges in room, or lobby.

nice sized suites
By Sara, 08/14/07
Reserved a suite with two queen beds and they did not have any upon arrival. Had to settle for suite with one king bed and a pull out couch. So two people were comfortable and two not so much. But overall nice place and good location.

Nice stay, just what I needed.
By Michael-Christopher, 08/06/07
Except for some excessive door slamming, the hotel was just fine. The front desk employees were attentive and polite. The room was very comfortable. I would definitely go back again.

will never go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/22/07
the pool wasn't up and running and we weren't notified about it until we got there. The service was horrible and I found myself asking housekeeping and the front desk if there was any way i could get fresh towels or the room cleaned, or new sheets (that were still dirty from the visitor before us...apparently they ate pizza in bed, because I know I didn't!). They explain that a holiday inn express doesn't change sheets because that is why it is called a holiday inn express. I'm sorry when you are in a room that has windows that wont open for 5 days and 4 nights...i would like fresh linen, towels, etc. will never go back there or any other location again! not worth the money. I feel i was overcharge. and to top it off...i was; i received my bank statement and they overcharged me by $300. just another thing i now have to sort out.

Had a Great Experience.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/06
We stayed here with our 3 young children on Dec. 26 for the Motor City Bowl. People Mover was only a block away. Pool was great for us. Not too deep for the kids. No hot tub, my fault, they don't advertise one. Extended(?) Continental Breakfast was Great. Kids had cereal, milk, juice, donuts, Great Cinnamon rolls, apples, oranges, yogurt..... Very good. Ice machines located by elevators on every floor. Staff was EXCELLENT!! Everyone was kind, friendly, and attentive. Got to do early check-in and we went swimming. Needed extra towels for our room, the maid ran out on her cart, so she went into the room she just cleaned and got me those towels so I wouldn't have to wait for more being delivered. Wait would have only been about 2 minutes more. The only bad thing I can say is the doors on our floor had to be slammed shut. I mean SLAMMED. We heard a few more during the night, but that didn't really bother us-didn't wake the kids. Would definately stay here again. We NEVER felt like we were in a bad neighborhood. Yes, there is construction going on-but isn't that a GOOD thing...

Not bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/06
The hotel staff was very helpful. The room was clean, price was a bit more than what it should have been. Location was great, could walk to Comerica Park to see the Tigers. My children loved the fact the swimming pool was on the top floor. Overall grade B+. Will go there again this year to stay.
