Generally, my husband and I stay at hotels under $100/night when we want to get away for the weekend. We have found some consistently good hotels this way however, this is not one of them. Our room was a suite in which the air conditioner turned off and on all night failing to properly cool the room, the refrigerator was very loud, and the cleanliness left much to be desired. Don't let the updated decor fool you. Our room had a musty, urine-like odor, and I cringed each time I stepped into the bathroom and shower. There were several other hotels near this location and each time we drove past one of them I wished we were staying there instead. As for location, it was accessible to many Birmingham attractions and I felt it was in a relatively safe area. The service was courteous and friendly, but not outstanding. I would not recommend this hotel. We will continue our search for a good hotel in the Birmingham area.
