hyatt regency, a week of bliss...
By ,
we had a fabulous time at the hyatt regency (taba heights). Hot lazy days, a perfect week. Staff very friendly, snorkelling good, food good, but just one bad comment, DO NOT go at the end of Ramadam (excuse the spelling), unfortunately the Muslim religion obviously accepts rude, pushy and ignorant behaviour (including the children). Avoid this time and you will have a super holiday.....

Just returned
By ,
Today returned from the Hyatt Taba, this was our 4th visit since it was opened in 1999 and it was the only hotel. sadly it will probably be our last as its standards have declined since more flights have become available from further afield, the sign of progress I guess. the staff are very apathetic due I believe to the way they are treated by certain nationalities, the food lacks imagination, and the service in the main dining room is extremely slow.it seems there is not enough crockery and utensils for everyone when the hotel is full, and cups and saucers etc get taken from other tables, so when you are given a table it lacks the neccessary items and the cycle continues. alcohol and coffees are very expensive £3.50 for a beer and the same for a Coffee. You also have to get up pretty early in the morning to get a sunbed by the pool as the German mentality has crept in. having said that the hotel is beautiful and clean and the rooms are comfortable.it has 7 lovely pools and wall to wall sunshine 7 days a week, the snorkeling is also good but the coral is getting ruined because of the few who stand all over it. judging from what people who have returned several times were saying it may become a place you only visit once which is very sad.

Not a kid friendly hotel
By ,
If you are traveling with kids then Hyatt Taba is not for you. We (two ladies and six small kids) were given two rooms in their forgotten K section which they said had a sea view, but from that angle and on ground level we only had a very remote glimpse of the sea through trees. The rooms being also far from the kid’s pool were extremely inconvenient. Although the rooms are pleasant, spacious and clean you would encounter cockroaches in the bathroom and other insects running around. The hotel had an 80% occupancy at that time, which should not be an excuse for the slack service of their buffet restaurant staff ; we had to ask three times for anything we needed, at the end helped ourselves from other tables, never sat on a clean table, not to mention the intolerance of their staff towards the kids and their insensitivity. For a 5*hotel the food is nothing to get exited about, their best was the breakfast. There are not enough caution signs to warn the swimmers of the corals on the beach and emphasize on their danger, just regular signs found around every beach or swimming pool. Nobody warned the kids and the adults when they excitedly just entered the waters and my son badly cut his foot, which had to be stitched by their resident doctor who was incredibly impatient and insensitive with a nine year old kid that had to bear four stitches on his foot with just a sprits of the spray anesthetic they had. The friendliness of some of the staff we had encountered was on individual basis due to their own friendly personality and most definitely was not the common feature of the Hyatt Taba staff. But I must thank Islam & Walid of the health club for taking care of my son and changing his bandages a couple of times daily. Bottom line, if you are with kids do not bother going to Taba and especially the Hyatt, instead you can go to Sharm Al-Sheikh were in any hotel the staff are much friendlier and even more tolerant to kids. Even my little kids have sensed the difference.

Never go there
By ,
We were two mothers and six kids, we want on a package deal for three nights, during our stay we hoped to have a clean table for breakfast and dinner, we had to put aside all the dirty plates and glasses of the previous customers and ask the staff to take them away and they never did. we had to stir the tea and coffee with big spoon since even if you ask for a small one it will never come, at the end we had to take what we need from the staff service table. there were many flying bugs at night and in the rooms. on the beach no one ever came to ask us if we needed anything and we have to send the kids to bring what we need from the bar. we had to open the beach umbrella by ourselves since it is too hot and they are very slow and i have a back pain now form trying to open it bymyself, part of our family went on the same time to other Taba five stars hotel (all inclusive) with the same rate we paid for breakfast and lunch at Hayat and they were very happy with their services. the first two days the dinner was awful and the kids found nothing to eat but the third day the food was much better. i will never go to any of Hayat hotels again because i was stucked with the bad management i found there and i am surprised how such a hotel still gets five stars.

A Wonderful Experience
By ,
This really was one of the best holidays we've ever taken. The hotel was very clean and was maintained to a very high standard. The food we found excellent, although the choice was slightly limited, overall there was enough variety to suit most diets. Our room was spacious, comfortable and always cleaned to a high standard. There was also a free digital safe, which meant there were no worries about storing any valuables. The beach was wonderful and if the mood took you then you could go for walks and feel quite safe in doing so. The pools were very good and spotlessly clean, also with a choice of pool depending on whether you wanted a long swim or just to splash about. We were there in November 06, so the days can be quite short as the sun disappears behind the mountains in the latter part of the after noon, however this did not detract from the vacation in any way. We found everybody very friendly, especially the staff. They were genuinely interested in you having a good time and not just what size of tip you would leave when departing. The only downside in any way is the cost of drinks, but when you consider the cost of the holiday against the desirable qualities of the hotel, then it still works out as a great value for money vacation. We're going back in September and we can't wait.

BEWARE
By ,
We were disappointed with our recent stay. We are a family of 6( 2 adults and 4 children). This was our first Egypt trip and decided to try an all inclusive package. Not a good idea, at least at the Hyatt. All of the meals and drinks were included at the main buffet resaurant....but the service is the worst we have ever had!!! We have stayed at many 5 star resorts around the world and this is at most 3 star!! The waiters are not happy at all to help and bring drinks when requested...it always seemed to take forever and they were not happy when asked to do ANYTHING!!! With 4 hungry and thirsty kids....you parents will understand! Everywhere else on the resort during the day you are charge for EVERYTHING....so definitley not all inclusive. All the other resorst have wristbands you can wear and with this you are able to get drinks and icecream for the kids throughout the day....this adds up so quick...but at the Hyatt there is nothing like this! The food was pretty good, but did end up with a stomach bug for 2 days. There is a kids club, but it was never open and was very run down! No entertainment in the everning and a very very quiet place, which is not bad, but all of the other hotels seemed to have alot more activity...volleyball, happy hours, barbecues and eveining entertainment. The snorkeling is great and we did pay for alot of water activities from the marina in Taba. The rooms are VERY basic....a 3 star at the most....were some cockroaches in the rooms also! The Egyptian wine is terrible and the beer is not that much better!! We have learned if we go back to Egypt it would definitely be at a different resort!

Excellent value.
By ,
We have just returned from a one week stay at the Hyatt Regency in Taba Heights. This hotel is excellent value for money, five star service without five star charges. The Egyptian people were friendly and helpful; the whole lay-out of the place is spacious and clean, at no time did we feel over-crowded. Thoroughly recommended.
