Not a kid friendly hotel

If you are traveling with kids then Hyatt Taba is not for you.
We (two ladies and six small kids) were given two rooms in their forgotten K section which they said had a sea view, but from that angle and on ground level we only had a very remote glimpse of the sea through trees. The rooms being also far from the kid’s pool were extremely inconvenient. Although the rooms are pleasant, spacious and clean you would encounter cockroaches in the bathroom and other insects running around.
The hotel had an 80% occupancy at that time, which should not be an excuse for the slack service of their buffet restaurant staff ; we had to ask three times for anything we needed, at the end helped ourselves from other tables, never sat on a clean table, not to mention the intolerance of their staff towards the kids and their insensitivity.
For a 5*hotel the food is nothing to get exited about, their best was the breakfast.
There are not enough caution signs to warn the swimmers of the corals on the beach and emphasize on their danger, just regular signs found around every beach or swimming pool. Nobody warned the kids and the adults when they excitedly just entered the waters and my son badly cut his foot, which had to be stitched by their resident doctor who was incredibly impatient and insensitive with a nine year old kid that had to bear four stitches on his foot with just a sprits of the spray anesthetic they had.
The friendliness of some of the staff we had encountered was on individual basis due to their own friendly personality and most definitely was not the common feature of the Hyatt Taba staff. But I must thank Islam & Walid of the health club for taking care of my son and changing his bandages a couple of times daily.
Bottom line, if you are with kids do not bother going to Taba and especially the Hyatt, instead you can go to Sharm Al-Sheikh were in any hotel the staff are much friendlier and even more tolerant to kids. Even my little kids have sensed the difference.
