Don't book during the Shrimp Festival

The first stay in October 2008 was fantastic. The suites are well worth the price. Very enjoyable. Overlooks the marina. Convenient to downtown shops and restaurants. The second reservation was for May 2 during the annual Shrimp Festival. They "overbooked", and my wife and I were without a room. However, after some negotiation, they eventually paid for a beachfront room at a condo. Very nice. We would still recommend but not during the first week in May each year.
 
 
 
 
 
quiet getaway for one

The breakfast room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool was great, as was the breakfast. Rooms were pleasant and comfortable. Lots of places to roam and read a book and lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance! Wonderful place and exceptional Hampton.

I love the atmosphere at the beach

This hotel is sooo nice. The room I stayed in was excellent. I am picky about clean hotels, and this one passed with flying colors. I had a wonderful view of the river and the boats that passed by. Total relaxation. The front desk was very helpful. I definitely will be going back, and soon. The price was great also. I love staying in Fernandina Beach. The shops are all within walking distance and so were several restaurants. Gosh, they should pay me for writing this.

Will Go Back...

The location is GREAT. Right down in the Historic District of Fernandina Beach. Just across the RR tracks from the Marina and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The sounds were not a problem in the room. Also, the hotel is not far from the beaches and Fort Clinch and Egan's Creek Greenway. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is designed to fit in with the historic district. Rooms are comfortable and the housekeeping and desk staff handled all our requests quickly and with a smile. Breakfast has its own dining area, not in the lobby as usual. The fare was typical of a continental breakfast, but was good. The breakfast staff kept the food ready and the tables cleaned. We would recommend this Hampton to anyone planning a trip to Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach. We will go back soon.

Clean Rooms and shops just a block away

The hotel is very clean and neat and it smells wonderful. Breakfast in the morning was great lots of food to choose from and employees were welcoming. I had a few problems with front desk one after another but after a while I just got frustrated from trying. Housekeeping was clean and friendly always there to help out when needed, I hope they get well treated for their hard work which they don't get to much recognition for. friendly staff, clean rooms not alot to do other than the strips of shops in the city There is a casino boat right across the parking lot!!! Ice cream in the city is great.

Awesome and friendly

I am not a hotel person, but the service, smiling faces and cleanliness rank very high at this hotel. I would recommend it to anyone, especially if they want to see the town within walking distance.

Great Location, Loved It!

First of all, this location is perfect if you are going to visit the quaint little beach town of Fernandina Beach. It is walking distance to the downtown shops, restaurants, and of course the quiet beaches. Directly across the street are the shrimping boats,and let me just say that you should definitely order shrimp at whichever dining establishment you choose to visit. The hotel smells wonderful, is beautifully decorated and very clean. There is a nice workout room, an outdoor pool (usually cold), and a nice, comfortable room with largescreen tv for the free continental breakfast. And the price is right. We've stayed there several times with our kids and had absolutely no problems, which is something you can't do at the local B&B.

Hotel Hospitality

Room was very clean. Very nice breakfast bar. Lots of foods to choose from which is just right for picky kids. Close location to the beach. Just a walking distance away for fun in the sun. Swimming pool was just right for the kids. Friendly and helpful staff was ready to serve the customers.
