Beware of overcharges!
By RobynM, 10/14/09
Foremost, they over-billed us $234 for a two-night stay. In addition, we were never able to get our room warmer than about 65 degrees. Not worth the price and certainly not worth the hassle of getting the charge removed. Apparently if you book through Orbitz their system is nonetheless set up to bill your card if Orbitz doesn't immediately go through. Not my problem but they made it mine. Very frustrating.

What a wonderful place to stay!
By Trudie M, 09/02/08
We spent one night at the Grand Hyatt (11th floor) before boarding a cruise ship. From the moment we got out of the taxi, we felt comfortable. The hotel was immaculate, our reservation was handled promptly, the room was impeccable and very tastefully decorated, the hotel was conveniently located (within walking distance to Pike Place, Macy's, Norstrom's, and several nice restaurants), and each staff member was more than polite ... it was obvious that they wanted their guests to be happy. While the cost was a bit more than the average chain hotel, it was worth every cent. If our travels take us to Seattle again, the Grand Hyatt Seattle is a MUST DO. There's nothing we didn't like about it.

Absoutely incredible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/08
I have stayed in this hotel twice (a guest of Microsoft) and I was blown away both times, especially the second time when I was on a high floor and had a spectacular view of Elliott Bay. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and by far the most luxurious I have ever stayed in -- ok, I would never be able to afford this place for more than a day or two on my own, but still! The lobby and amenities are great also, and the hotel is right in the middle of all the activity of downtown Seattle. Pike Place Market is a few blocks away, as are many other shopping centers and stores, and the monorail at adjacent Pacific Place will take you to Seattle Center (think Space Needle, museums, etc.). I wish I could stay at this hotel every time I visited Seattle! (Note: I only rated "value" at 4 because I didn't pay for the room and I really have very little experience with hotels of this caliber to compare to.)

Expensive...and worth every penny!
By James Tiberius, 06/26/08
We stayed in an Emerald Suite on the 27th floor, and it couldn't have been any better. Incredible views of the waterfront, the market, and the space needle, very comfortable bed and furniture, great minibar, awesome bathroom and tub. By all means upgrade to a suite-it's not that much more and you more than double the size of your room. Loved the electric drapes that open and close with a switch on the wall, and the "do not disturb" sign is not a sign at all-it's a light you turn on with a switch. Note-even with precise directions it's not terribly easy to find, as there is no huge sign to see-there is a sign, but it's subtle and easy to miss. Parking is expensive, but you're a few blocks pleasant walk away from the pike place market, the waterfront, the monorail station to the space needle-it's an ideal location.

Seattle's Best Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/07
My wife and I don't usually stay in upper end hotels, but we decided to go for it thon our vacation to Seattle. Boy, am I glad we did. Every bit of the hotel was immaculate and the beautiful wood everywhere mixed warmth with a very formal atmosphere. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to an executive suite, and all I can saw is "Amazing". A sitting room with its own bathroom, and a HUGE California King bed with a bathroom almost as big as the bedroom. Hardwoods and marble really gave your the feeling of opulence, as well as the wonderful fixtures, including the hammered steel bar sink. The location is amazing, with several shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. And another great feature is during the day, you can ride the city buses through most of the tourist sections of the city for free. We had planned to rent a car, but between the buses, the monorail system, and our feet, we got to see everthing we wanted to and more. While the Elliot Grand Hyatt is not considered a "bargain" hotel, I have to say we got the most for our money while we were there, and we would not hesitate to stay there the next time get to Seattle.

Great experience
By SandiS, 06/01/07
Friendly and accomodating staff. Beautiful room with a great view. The only downside was the hotel restaurant, Ruth's Chris. Food was just ok and prices are exorbitant. For a Steakhouse, they should be able to cook a steak properly, but they blew it.

Wonderful
By Kate, 03/28/07
This hotel is in the perfect locaion. Everything you want is in walking distance. Also, the rooms are beautiful, especially the bathrooms. The room was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever seen and the staff was pretty friendly. I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Seattle.

It was great...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/06
I just spent 4 days at the Grand Hyatt on a corporate retreat. This is the 2nd year we have returned to the Grand Hyatt and I hope we continue to choose them as our place of fun. The service is second to none. The rooms are beautiful and spacisou. Staying at the Grand Hyatt makes you feel special. Thanks for a wonderful time.
