Courtyard Grand Cayman, West Bay

My boyfriend and I stayed here back in the summer of 2008 and would definitely recommend this hotel! All of the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The manager gave us a free round of drinks our first night as a welcome gesture. The front desk staff was great...making reservations, calling taxis, recommending places to go, etc. Yes, you do have to walk across the street to get to the beach but so what? It literally takes two minutes tops and is worth the trouble! We've done a lot of traveling and this was the most beautiful beach we've ever seen! Also, the beach bar is awesome...perfect place to unwind at night and watch the sunset with a drink in hand. Not sure what the prices are like now but we only paid $100 a night! Room was spotless, service impeccable, friendly atmosphere, and a heavenly beach....what more could you ask for?

Just got back and all was good about this hotel. Read some of the reviews and I couldnt find any bad things to aggree with. Staff went out of thier way to please. Crossing the street for the beach and cafe and beach bar was not a problem, as a matter of fact there were some people staying down the beach at much more expensive hotels that walked down to our beach and bar and had a better time.Go and tell Peet & Jose at the beach bar I sent you, you'll be happy you did. i took my husband there for his birthday, the staff went out of there way to make things wonderfull for him, the buffett on the beach at sunset was great, great band , great food, wonderful service, great value. everyone went out of there way to greet us, welcome us, made our stay great , the rooms were clean, food was good. i will go there again, thanks for a great time.

Really nice hotel but a bit pricey for what you get. Set us up with some nice people in the area to show us around. Location was good as well.

RUN FORREST RUN!!! Make sure you look both ways before you head for the beach!!! If you're on a budget, guess this one is ok, otherwise, go elsewhere.

THE SCENERY WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL. AND THE ROOOMS WERE BEAUTIMUS!!! iT WAS A VERY HIP NEW STYLE AND GAVE YOU A GOOD FEELING FROM JUST WHEN YOU WALKED IN!

i liked that the beach was private however i disliked that it was so far from the downtown area.. i liked the cook "WASHINGTON" that made our omlets in the morning and the pasta night was great. i also disliked that i could not change my american currency into cayman currency at my hotel. overall the island was amazing and will definately return.. but i will be sure to stay in a different hotel.

The only good thing about this trip was the beach. The hotel was terrible, after a day out we came back to find feces in our bathtub. enough said

My wife and I went at the end of June into July of 2006, and we were apprehensive at first, however we were in love with the location of the hotel the beach and everything about it. the hotel is farther away though not so far from town so you have to drive into town for shopping and everything tourist do but after a long day of activities the hotel is away from all the hustle and bustle so you can get away from it all. let me start with the room, we had an oceanview room and it was beautiful, the air conditioner was very cold so we had to compromise a little, the only problem was that everytime the air kicked in the fan was a little to loud for my wife, white noise doesn't bother me. service was a little slow but we spent all day at the beach anyway so they had more than enough time to clean. The beach was a concern before we got there since I was told it was 100 yards from the hotel, not true at all, we had to cross the street, however we had a very nice beachfront, it was so good that we had visitors from neighboring hotels coming to our beach front to snorkel, which let me say was absolutely beautifull, we went out over 200 yards from the shore and did not even realize it since there were so many fishes to see.....200 feet from the shore is dangerous because the water is deep enough for boat's and they don't see snorkeler's. the food can be pricey but if you rent a car and ask the hotel employee's, they will tell you where to find ideal spot's in town to eat that are reasonable. oh by the way make sure you convert american money to cayman money before you go, the cayman dollar is stronger than the american dollar and they charge you for conversion when you are there, if you are staying for a week or more I would do $1000 to $2000 except if you are scuba diving most shop's accept amaerican money.

This place is heaven. Escaped from 3 kids for a week, and we couldn't have picked a better place. Everyone in the hotel was so friendly, and helpful, we couldn't stay anywhere else now. The beach bar was excellent also. The beach was quiet, secluded, and relaxing. This place tops all. x x x x
