BEST WESTERN Garden State Inn, Absecon

The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable. Great location, just outside of Atlantic City. The price was great. My only complaint would be that the heater was very loud. Other than that I thought the place was fantastic. Would definitely stay there again without giving it a second thought. Great value and convenient location

I refused to stay in that place more than 30 mins after got smoking room for my kids (reservation was non-smoking for sure). TV remote and toilet was not working. The guy on reception tried to help but there was not non-smoking room available. So he suggested to me to call to support line of Best Western to find free room somewhere. Well it was too much for me and I gave up...

I found the room and hotel clean and comfortable. Not the Ritz but not bad for the price. Bathroom was recently remodeled. Nice strong shower. The "continental breakfast" was not worth the time...watered down OJ and some cold cereal. Drive down the block and get a good breakfast at one of the many diners. But I would go back.

The staff at the desk seemed to have no business experience at all. When checking in, the man just put his hand out for money. He didn't say how much it was, or ask for my card, or anything. Then, after we had reserved a non smoking room, it smelled so much like smoke that I was coughing. Our refrigerator was not working and we found that the outlet was bad, so we had to move it, and it still barely kept anything cold. When checking out, they didn't say thank you or ask how anything was. But the WORST part was the housekeeping. They woke us up yelling through the door every morning between 8 and 10. Even on our checkout day. I have NEVER been to a hotel where they cleaned the room at 8 or 9 am! They also went in the room even though we put the do not disturb sign on the door. The thermostat worked great, the jetted tub in the standard king was huge, and the bed was very comfortable. Just what you need for an affordable stay. But being woken up every morning by yelling in foreign language is not my idea of a vacation.

Left me stranded, and stil charged me for it!!! Booked my room on their website and it stated "guaranteed for late arrival". I even called to confirm this, and let them know I would be arriving late. But when I got there was told they gave away my room, forcing me to go door-to-door late at night looking for a place to sleep. And on top of that, they have to nerve to charge my credit card, which they refuse to take back to this point. From reading other reviews on this and other websites, I see I'm not the only one who had this problem. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Made reservations (left credit card #) at 11:00 am for that same night. Got there, gave name and . . . nothing in their system. Lots of blank stares, especially when we mentioned the price they mentioned over the phone of $55 (with a horrible connection and very difficult accent to understand-- lots of repeating and questions on both ends). They did have a room for us (nice, but still lingering with somewhat annoying new paint smell, a long screw on the middle of the floor, mostly sheer curtains with nothing but bright hotel sign/window lights shining in, and although there was a coffee maker with coffee and filter, there wasn't any sugar, creamer or stirrers). Pass this one up!

The person at front desk is really unfriendly. Breakfast bagels finished at 9am while breakfast time is till 9.30am. Even after complaining to front desk they were not refilled.

ok place with the bad service! Commication at this hotel/motel is poor and english is like a second language. If u are going to Atlantic City, DON'T STAY HERE! On my way home, I checked out the Econo Lodge up the road - I'll prob stay at the Econo next time, they have just renovated - all rooms are new and seem to be clean. think before you make your choice to stay at this best western.

Stayed here in late Aug 2005. Didn't want one of those dirty hotels along the highway - took a chance on the B.W. I was happy with the cleanliness - very important to me. The bathroom seemed new. Jacuzzi was clean - rest of room was fine. They give a coffee maker but no coffee or tea!! That was dumb. They offered a Continental Breakfast -but I didn't know it. Went to check out early - breakfast items weren't refreshed - so if youdon't get to it early - you get nothing! I would stay again and request same room because I know it will be clean.
