Unbiased Review
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/11
Shoreline is a family friendly place first and foremost. It is extremely well cared for and has a very helpful and friendly staff. For an obviously older facility, the owners truly know how to keep it attractive and functional. No dislikes based on two stays two years in a row. By the way, there is a fence and muralled wall around a very clean saline pool which is very secure if you have young children along. Please note the fence is NOT chain-link, check out the pool photos. Also there is no pretension that this is a party motel or "Hot Babe" facility. It is what it is, a clean, hospitable, Family facility.

Looking forward to next year!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/31/09
We are repeat customers and will continue to be in the future. Polite staff, courteous maid service, and clean accomodations. If you want to spend all of your vacation in your room, then go book a 5-star somewhere else. Those that complain must be expecting the Ritz-Carlton, which it definitely isn't. This is a great place to stay if you want direct access to the beach, short walk, and virtually no stairs to climb. Definitely worth the price.

Extremely Good Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/14/08
Our family has been coming to the Shoreline Hotel for over 20 years and I gotta write to counter some of the negative reviews. OK sure, it's an older hotel. Sure, there are sometimes cleanliness issue, i.e., bugs. However, I can't imagine anywhere but a five-star hotel NOT having bugs in the Florida climate. The digs are NOT the Hilton BEach Resort, but they do have, as far as I'm concerned, the old-style Florida charm that they miss. If you're going to relax and be able to do as little or as much as you want on a vacation, and do it CHEAPLY, the Shoreline is the best value in Daytona, in my opinion. The kitchenettes are fairly well equipped, allowing you to save money from the constant eating out. The pool and grounds are generally clean. And frankly the reason you may see so many groups go there is because it is a great way to have a family reunion. We always enjoy interacting with our fellow guests. The best sunrise on earth, as far as I'm concerned, is over the Atlantic in Daytona on a warm summer morning. Go, relax, and save a ton of money at Shoreline.

What a Joke!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/07
I don't know where they shot the photos for this place, our room looked nothing like those posted on this website. We left after 1 night in this dump. Their beds are what I might imagine a prision cot to be, walls are paper thin. We could hear the guy in the next room getting sick half the night. The other vacationers during our stay were a very large group of "bumpkins" from the same town, who vacation at this hotel together every year. They made us feel like an outcast at the pool, as if we had no right to be at that tiny little water hole surrounded by a chain link fence. I am assuming those people writing outstanding reviews of this hotel were either smashed their entire vacation, or have never stayed in a hotel rated over 1 star. Please, save your self the headache and go elsewhere in Daytona!

Great smaller motel on the beach.
The older small motels we stayed at as kids in the 60's had a certain charm. It is great that some have survived the condo crush so our kids can experience the old Daytona. This one has been kept up very well and knowing it's age you can overlook tiny imperfections. It has a lot of atmosphere. Beautiful sunrises. Palm Trees. Umbrella tables to sit at right above the beach to use as your base of operations while playing in the ocean and pool. Fun! I only wish Daytona would wake up on a few things before they drive away all the tourists. Lights out from the beach to protect the turtles? Dumb to think we control nature and not as safe. Beautiful colored lights used to shine on the palm trees and the beach in Daytona. Up the beach a ways they wont let you drive on the beach and it is dead. Very dumb. Despite anti-tourist ideas of someone here we still enjoyed this motel and our stay a lot.

Bring the Raid
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/06
Terrible stay one night with this hotel whihc involved large roaches. Moved from one cottage to another to find still more bugs - yes, also from the Roach family. Manager told me to expect bugs in Florida. Can of Raid a requirement. Many other hotels in Daytona Beach. Stick to the brand names if in doubt!

Buyer Beware!
By AmyP, 6/2/06
Paid ***WAY** too much for what we didn't get. Rooms were uncluttered but dirty. 2 bedroom suite was just 2 adjoined rooms. Staff was nice enough, but this was a typical run down motel that will probably be demolished within 2 years for a condo construction. Oh, and the stand up showers were small like tile coffins! There should have been a weight limit posted on the shower curtain.....

Don't Do It!!!!
By Jeffery, 5/25/06
Please take my word for it, DON'T STAY!! The place is very dirty and not up to date. It is not what it seems by looking at the web site. The rooms are the worst I have ever stayed it for one of the seven nights we intended on. Thank goodness we were able to find a different place to stay. The manager was very nice, but the owner has no clue what makes a nice place. My 71 year old dad wanted to stay in the car rather than stay in these dirty nasty rooms. I have never paid so much ($106) and been so disappointed. The owner should be ashamed of himself to rent rooms like this. Please research this property before staying. It is really really bad!!
