Best Western Southgate Inn & Suites, Buda

I got the information about this hotel through Internet. I called the BEST WESTERN Southgate Inn & Suites to see if there were any rooms available and the gentleman who answered the phone was polite and friendly and said there was a room for me. As soon as I got there I was impressed. The decor is modern and clean looking Hotel. The mattress was spotless and very comfortable. The lobby is great. It has this modern but comfortable feel. The Rooms was clean and Tidy. The beds are comfortable.

I made reservations 2 weeks ahead of time and advised of very late arrival and was told it was no problem. When calling to confirm the day of arrival, I was told that I called in and canceled earlier that day. I told the person that was false he said I called in from the same phone number and canceled when I told him there is no way and had the phone records to prove it he put the manager on the line who said the same I told him that was false he yelled he didn't have time for this and I should feel lucky he didn't charge the cancelation fee then hung up. If I had really canceled you better believe they would have charged me. So, do not risk your trip and stay at a place that totally unreliable and run by the rudest man who should be fired. If I could put negative stars I would.

I canceled the room I made reservations for well over the 24 cancellation time and was spcifically told my room was canceled. The hotel still charged my credit card and would not give me a refund for the mistake they made. They were unwilling to help me out at all and I was told 'I was a headache to them and I can take it up with corporate Best Western'. I will never stay here or recommend that anyone does!

We check in at 1:30 am and was given a "late night rate" of 119.00 for a queen suite. The pull out sofa had filthy stained sheets with food particles. When I called down to the front desk for new sheets(and a extra pillow) I was told "there were no more". When I inquired about changing rooms I was told "no other suites are available". We were forced to sleep 3 in one bed and 2 in another, with only four pillows. The light of day did not add to our pleasure. The blankets on the queen beds were also stained!!! After taking pictures (and SHOWERS!) I walked down to the front desk to talk to a manager. He was not available and they were not sure when he would be back. I inquired again before leaving. After several attempts I finally reached the manager (Mike) by phone the next day. He was argumentative and asked me why I took so long to complain!!! He put me on hold 3 times and then informed me that "I was given a special rate of 119.00 and the room should have been 159.00 AND therefore I should have no complaints. I then explained to him that AT NO TIME WAS IT EVER MENTIONED THAT A FILTHY ROOM WAS AVAILABLE FOR 119.00-??? (can you believe the audacity???) The manager then offered a (laughable) 20.00 compensation fee. I hope this review is worth more than his "compensation" fee.
