Terrible experience. Do not stay here.

Seriously, too many complaints to list. Everybody I talked to during our week stay had a complaint or interesting story of terrible service. The hotel was a sponser for the 14U girls fast pitch softball national tournament. This tournament brought 76 teams from around the west to the Mt. Vernon area for an entire week. The hotel has 40 rooms and 3 teams stayed for the week, which is probably 33 of their 40 rooms. We were with one of the teams. This is a tremendous amount of revenue for the hotel and the valley. However, we were treated just awful.
For the price, I can live with no complimentary shampoo, an unsatisfying danish for breakfast and a creepy manager who chain smokes from the loft terrace, stares at people and wears the same clothes everyday. However, the service and respect from the ownership was the worst I have ever experienced at a hotel.
The biggest concern came down to towels. Apparently, the towels in the hotel were getting dirty and stained. I did not happen to experience this, but that is what I was told. I started with 3 regular bath towels in my room. On the third day, I only had 2. I talked to the front desk and I was told that some of the towels were stained and so we would only get two towels. That day, during the day while the teams were gone, the hotel staff went through rooms and removed towels from rooms that had 3 towels. Even removing towels from rooms that had "do not distrub signs" on the door all day. On the 4th day, I accepted the "two towel" rule and after my two children took showers, I took the wet towels down to the lobby and asked to exchange them for two more. I was told that I would get no more towels and that I should go to Walmart to buy my own towels. Can you believe that? A hotel telling their guests to go to the store to buy towels? As an individual guest of the hotel, nobody from my room was responsible for any damaged towels. However, I did go buy towels at the walmart, so that we could finish getting ready that morning.
That same day, a late arrival member to our team arrived and was given a letter at checkin addressed to "Softball teams" and rules for the softball teams and expenses to expect for ruined items. This member passed the letter around to all the parents.
On the final day of checkout, I noticed the front desk had put up a sign that said they reserved the right to go through rooms at any time and without notice. I can only assume this was to cover themselves for raiding rooms for towels when guests were out for the afternoon. In all my time, I have never checked into a hotel and seen that type of "language" posted for anyone to read. Is that a way to welcome guests?
Again, I don't have time to discuss the countless other issues including our sheets being washed only once during the week and one day coming home and finding dirt still in the beds. Don't stay here.
